Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Elliptical intervals for 35 minutes, working on turnover. 200s on the track this afternoon.

PM - Warm up to the Olympus track for 3.4 miles. Then ran 8 x 200m w/200m recovery jog - 36.8 s average! I am happy with how quickly I was able to run, even if it was only 200s. I was nervous that my feet would give me trouble, but they were good. I even wore the Mirages...first day in over a month that I didn't wear the clunkers (Omni 8s)! That 0.5 lb loss per shoe probably helped me run a little faster :o)

New women's race in Moab on May 12 - Thelma and Louise Half Marathon. Super fast course!

Nice workout! That looks like such a fun race, maybe next year for me. Are you going to do it?

From Andrea on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 09:25:08 from 72.37.171.52

Carina - I'm thinking about it. I would love to get a group and head down there. It's a great time of year to be in Moab and could be a fun weekend!

Glad to see you were able to run today!! So impressed with your motivation during the pregnancy.

I'll go :) I think I will be a pro at volunteering at races by then. I thought about trying to get involved with that Girls on the Run org - sounds like a pretty neat group.

I'll drive and take pictures!

Sounds like such a fun race. I am definitely interested. I love Moab.

Lets just plan this trip! Its a couple weeks after Boston, if we don't have something to do I'll be right back to 150 miles a week!

From Tina on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 11:36:36 from 71.32.205.222

That race looks so fun! Too bad it is the week before the Ogden Marathon. It probably wouldn't be the smartest thing to run a half marathon the week before a marathon. I'll put it on the list for next year.

trip to moab WITH running involved? yes. definitely.

Just talked to a 1:10 girl named Lindsey who was sure she was going to be up against you at the Provo half. I told her how legit you are! Soon you'll be ready to win again.

From Jake K on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 15:24:20 from 155.100.226.54

Well I guess that means Lindsey Dunkley is coming back. I'm just glad I'm fast enough where I only really have to worry about getting chicked if I'm racing a 5K against Dibaba, which is unlikely. All the 1:10-1:15 HM guys around here are in for a potentially embarassing whoopin' now! :-)

From Cam on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 15:37:07 from 166.147.78.226

She mentioned back to back 17:30 5k's on treadmill. Yikes, chicked indeed.

From MarkP on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 20:43:51 from 174.19.59.69

Yes, I've been "dunked" on a few times. She is awesome. I'm glad she's back!

From Andrea on Thu, Mar 08, 2012 at 20:50:50 from 67.177.21.60

Maybe all that time off made her a little slower so I will have competition, not total domination :)
