Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 2.5 miles easy.

I'm heading to Juiz de Fora, Brazil tomorrow for work and will be there for the next two weeks.

Upside - Weather is awesome with highs 85 lows 65.

Downside - I can't go outside by myself b/c it's dangerous, I can't speak Portuguese, and who's going to make sure Jake tapers for the marathon??

I've been perpetually tapering and getting slower since PF Changs!

I promise I'll update Google Docs everyday w/ my PT exercises.

My Brazil trip got cancelled this year, which I was kind of bummed about. But yeah, not a great running place, even for a guy runner it's unsafe. Have fun.

I had to re-read that a few times to make sure it said "GUY" runner.

It would have gotten automatically blocked if you typo'd it, Rob. But also would have been way funnier and an interesting surprise!

I volunteer to duct tape Jake to his office chair on even days!

How are those glute squeezes coming along?

From Rob on Fri, Feb 15, 2013 at 09:46:19 from 206.71.84.68

Woo! how come that comment didn't get blocked?

I didn't know you were going to Brazil again how fun. That is way too bad you are going to be in a dangerous area but maybe you can talk one of your co-workers into becoming a runner for two weeks?

I like Aimee's idea to handle Jake. :-)

Hopefully your resort will have a semi-decent fitness room. When we went to the West Indies last year, I couldn't run outside and had to do an 18 miler on the TM. I counted lizards as they ran by the window and dreamed of strawberry slushies. But watching several movies on the ipad made the biggest difference. Have fun!

Cool, have a great trip! You can still e-coach him from Brazil.

Awesome trip! I can sing Happy Birthday in Portugese, that could help you celebrate. Have fun and stay safe.

Have fun, too bad you can't bring the ol' Alter G with you.

Have a fun trip!

The Jake tapering comment induced a sincere laugh out loud

I think this was the same scenario last year. I think the threats he was left with were successful.
