Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Starting to go crazy. Last time I took 5 days off from running was probably 10 years ago - I feel like I'm blowing up like a balloon (which is why I refuse to weigh myself until I start running again). On a positive note, both my back and foot feel A LOT better. I am just nervous that they are going to hurt again as soon as I start back running again. We'll see. This morning was another round of strength training/core for 30 minutes.

Going to the Brad Paisley/The Band Perry/Scotty McCreery concert tonight. I'm so excited!

A couple years ago (February 2010) in Vail we BOTH went 5 straight days w/ no running. If you recall it snowed like 20" every night and we were skiing so much that we didn't even care about not running at all :-)

Glad to hear that things are turning around for you finally:) By the way I saw all those trucks with Brad Paisley painted on them at the E-center this morning on the way to work. Looks to be a pretty big event..

Jake - that is awesome! :)

You are being SO good about the no running! I'm not sure I could be so good if I wasn't booted up.

Enjoy the concert - I'm jealous!!

i'm glad things are feeling better after the time off this week. i know that "going crazy" feeling -- hang in there. just a couple more days and you'll be right back in the game. i definitely think you made the right decision.

have fun at the concert tonight.

jake - we all need one of those for JRP runs.

I think it is so smart that you are resting and giving your body what it needs although it is crazy making. You will come back twice as strong :)
