Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Well, I'm not a total disaster after running yesterday. Sore, but I'm thinking maybe it's a good sore? Rode on the recumbent bike r=7 for 20 minutes, then yoga for 20 minutes.

PM - Arm weights for 40 minutes then pool running for 30 minutes. Felt good!

So glad it's Thanksgiving week!

I'm glad you feel pretty good today! Good sore=progress.

Yeah, I felt so good yesterday - I really wanted to hammer out a hard 10 miler, but Jake talked me out of it. I probably wouldn't be feeling good today if I did that!

I'm really hoping this is progress, and the soreness is just weakness at this point - not injury! :)

So glad to hear you are feeling okay after the run yesterday. :) And I am with you on Thanksgiving, it is the greatest Holiday of the year in my opinion. Of course I don't have to cook and just get to eat so that may be why I like it so much. :)

Yay, I'll be so glad to see you put this injury behind you! I feel like my hamstring went through a little "soreness" on the backend of the injury that didnt indicate reinjury; just a little weakness in the area. Geez, its so tempting to just go balls to the wall once you feel there is progress on an injury, but good on you for holding back! That hard 10 miler will be there when you're 100% again :)

Oooh, you just decided to run last night

But oooh, this time I'm telling you, I'm telling you

You are never ever ever getting injured again

You are never ever ever getting injured again

You go talk to MDs, talk to PTs, talk to me

But you are never ever ever ever getting injured again

Smooth - very fitting! :)

Thanks! I keep waiting to feel terrible today, but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe that means another run tomorrow?! I might even get to run on Thanksgiving, meaning I can still eat my usual 10 casseroles and 5 pieces of pie!

Stop waiting to feel terrible, silly girl!!! :) :) :)

So excited to see this post today! :)

haha that's what I said... 3 months of feeling terrible is long enough... time to just either feel GOOD or GREAT!

Amen!
