Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Shortened horsepark loop 4.1 miles.

PM - Original plan was 10-12 x 400m at 5k pace. I was a little nervous about running fast because of my recent tight hamstrings so modified a bit.

Ran a 2 mile warm-up with Redd and Jake. Ran 2 x mile in 6:00 average (HM + 5s) then 7 x 400 at 80.5s average (5k A++ goal pace) with 200m jog in between all reps. The mile repeats served as a transition into 5k pace so it wasn't such a shock to the hamstrings. Worked very well. I wanted to do 8 400s, but it would've taken a little more effort than what I was shooting for today. Good workout overall. Finished off with a 2 mile cooldown with the guys.

What is going on with tight hammies? I used my super tight cwx compression shorts today and luckily mine didn't bother me. Have Jake dig his elbow in those knots! I wish we lived closer bc I'd love to run a track workout with/behind you sometime!

I was honestly just going to say what Dale said. Your inner voice will tell you. I say if it's louder saying don't, I wouldn't.

I would come for sure if my calf wasn't on the fritz.... and that isn't a slam on our fritz. :)

Melody - they've been tight for a couple weeks and I just want to be extra careful b/c hamstring injuries are the worst. It would be really nice if you were closer to do workouts together, although I'm not a 5am fan!

Allie - I'm planning 200s on Thursday - you can come then :) See you bright and early tomorrow morning.

Great way to take on the workout and still be good to the hamstring!
