Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - JAJA Run, 6 miles around Sugarhouse.

The USATF LDR Circuit Banquet was a lot of fun last night. The amount of talent and experience in one room was quite impressive. It was great to talk to everyone and get their support. This year, we didn't know about the circuit until mid-season so weren't able to be a part of it but are definitely doing it for 2012. I won a free entry into the Striders Half in the raffle and got free dinner, so I'd say it was a pretty successful evening!

I think this is some good advice for Tips for Training Through the Winter.

Good luck in Philly this weekend, go get that OTQ!

Good Luck this weekend. Are you flying out today?

Thats a good article... although I would change "Run at least 4 times per week" to "Run at least 4 DOUBLES per week" :-)

I think it pretty much nails the key points - run consistently, do a longer run every week, and sneak in some "light" faster running

you guys did great last night -- very interesting and beneficial for everyone there. we all want to be as fast as you!

the circuit will be a lot of fun next year. we can stir things up in that lonely 25-29 age group. :)

nice article -- although it doesn't mention heavy duty ski gloves. i've been wearing mine since mid-october and have just been waiting for you guys to join in. i'm starting to feel like a wuss (exacerbated by the fact that james never wears gloves)...

safe travels out to philly. have a great time. relax. have fun. believe. run your legs off and enjoy every moment as you rock your first marathon. don't forget the ice cream.

Wish I could have been there to hear all of you speak.

I keep forgetting this is your first marathon, but I know you'll do great because you have put in the quality training. Have a safe trip and most of all, have fun!!!

Can't wait for Saturday! The weather is looking nice and perfect, just like all of your training. Believe in it. Know that you have what it takes to do it! Enjoy it all!!! Even those last painful miles :)

Thanks guys! I'm so excited (probably more excited about having an entire week off from work, but the marathon too)! :)
