Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Back hurt quite a bit this morning, so I exercised on the elliptical for 30 min with speed increase every 5 min. I need to make the cross training for a longer duration of time if I'm going to keep up my fitness, but it's just kinda depressing not running when it is perfect weather out in the mornings now!

Noon - 20 min on the elliptical and then stretching. Talked to a guy about running marathons in the gym...he was 6'5" with lots of muscle - I can see why he has lots of joint pain when he runs long distances!

PM - Biked for an hour, probably 8 miles or so.

I agree, cross training is depressing! You should take a spinning class, or something. It's more fun than doing the machines by yourself. Keep it up, you'll be back to full training in no time. Are you still planning on running Draper Days?

No Draper Days for me, but I'll be there taking pictures and watching Jake (and others) run!

I actually used to teach spinning classes in college, as well as attend them. They are a great workout - I may just have to get back into that!

As long as I can do something active for 60-90 min a day, it shouldn't be too hard to get back into serious training in a couple months.
