Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 4 miles on the elliptical (about 40 minutes).

PM - Ran in the neighborhoods around Sugarhouse 5.7 miles. Felt so much better this afternoon - I did a 20 min massage on my butt/back area using the medicine ball and seems to have helped a ton. Going to try to do this every day.

If interested in the Olympic Trials, here's a Road to Houston Recap including interviews with some of the athletes and predictions.

I'm interested in running in the Olympic Trials and having Flotrack come interview me at my home. Do you know where I go to signup?

From Andrea on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 12:02:08 from 72.37.171.52

I think I can help you with that. Here are the steps -

1) Wait 4 years.

2) Listen to your girlfriend more often.

3) Get a dog.

4) Run a 2:15 marathon.

5) Make a friend that is part of Flotrack.

Very sound advice Andrea! Maybe I will sign up too ... I would agree to all of the above ... except Number 4! :)

From Jake K on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 12:08:14 from 155.100.226.54

Hmmm I feel like I want to start with either step 3 or 4. Probably step 3 - if I learned anything from step 2.

From Rachelle on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 17:51:03 from 199.190.170.28

I am pretty sure that step 3 is the main key to Jake's success. :)

From Jon on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 19:23:40 from 98.71.175.203

How does step 3 relate to 4? I can see marginal relevance from 1 and 2...

From Jake K on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 19:31:12 from 155.100.226.54

Jon, what you don't understand is that step 3 in on EVERY list, regardless of what the list is about.

From Jon on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 19:33:20 from 98.71.175.203

Ahh. So basically, Andrea wants a dog.

From Jake K on Mon, Jan 09, 2012 at 19:35:42 from 155.100.226.54

Precisely. So do I... but we don't have a yard... and we want something like a German Shorthair - so basically the dog equivalent of our energy levels... it would be out of control w/out a yard! :-)
