Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 4.8 miles, extended horsepark loop. Ran 1 mile slightly uphill in 6:04.

I need to figure out a workout plan for the next few weeks before TOU Half. Since I'm still not comfortable with track intervals and my usual training routine b/c I don't want to take any risks with my hamstring, I'm thinking about trying some new stuff - hill repeats, cross training workouts, tempo runs on rolling terrain...My motivation seems to be up and down lately so maybe mixing it up will keep me engaged.

FYI - Salt Lake Running Company is showing the Unbreakable movie this Friday at 7pm if anyone is interested. I have heard that it is really good!

PM - 5 miles around Sugarhouse park with Jake.

That is one of my favorite books ever! You will have to let me know how the movie is.

Have you ever done plyometrics? Could be fun to change things up.

Unbreakable is really good and I heard that Tony K. is actually going to be there as well. I wish I could make it.

mmmmm hummm, tracks are scary! Btw, when I see you again, I need to show you a few stretches that have changed some things for my hammy/hip alighnment...or we can skype or something. Maybe you do them anyway. Have you had a Kenetic Chain evaluation?

From Andrea on Mon, Jul 30, 2012 at 18:30:50 from 67.177.11.154

Tara - no I haven't had one. Probably should though, huh? Are you making progress?!

From runningafterbabies on Mon, Jul 30, 2012 at 20:00:42 from 71.195.219.247

I like Uphill repeats. They have been kind to my hamstring when it was tweaked a couple months back. I do 8-10 repeats all out, which isn't really that fast on a 7-10 percent grade. I can tell it has helped build strength without beating me up too badly. I think Steve Anderson mentioned hill training in his Utah running interview too. You'll figure something out! I hope your hammy starts to feel better soon.
