I will hit my 10th marathon this year after the Marine Corps Marathon.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Qualify for Boston.  Get a new 5k PR. Run a 1/2 marathon in under 1:40:00  1:35:00.

I graduated 2010 with my masters in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida.  I'm now at Robins AFB.

Starting running again after my itbs injury. Its tough starting over, but it was nice to go for a jog again.

Ran on a resistance 1mi track. Feeling a little better. Then did some calisthenics (pushups, situps, flexed arm hang, leg lifts).

Ran the fitness loop on base. Running is starting to get slightly easier after just 3 runs, I dropped my pace by 40sec/mi.  Hopefully I will keep dropping so I can run a fast 5k again soon while remaining injury free.

Wind was blowing about 25mph, so I got in good resistance training.  Ran to an obstacle course on an Army post and did some rope climbing, wall climbing, monkey bars, dips, leg lifts, push ups, planks and sprints.  I'm getting ready for a couple of obstacle mud runs.

I did my first obstacle race and it was tough.  There was about 21 obstacles if the stream runs and mud pits are included.  Barbed wire crawl, 50lb sand bag carry, rope climb, net climb, several wall climbs, barrier jumps and roll unders, monkey bars, cement bucket on a pully, shoot crawl, horizontal wall traverse with small slippery blocks, pully/vertical row machine, burbees, spear throw...

4mi run followed by a 3mi dog walk.  If my dog was good at running I would take her, but she sprints and stops and likes to bite the leash.  If I get her tired and give her a stick to bite she can trot along for maybe a mile when its cool and 1/2mi when its hot.

Ran at a local mountain bike trail.  Felt pretty good & didn't walk at all, even on the steep climbs.  Only one stop to change shoes.  I wore my Brook Cascadias for the first loop and remembered why I removed them from my shoe list, the balls of my feet were burning 2 mi in.  After switching back to my favorite trail shoes, the run was much more plesant.

Good run, even though it was hot (low 80's) and sunny, I felt better than I have in a long time running.  I'm trying to drop about 12-15lbs to get fast again and ready for the Marine Corps Marathon.  Doing good so far, and I'm starting to feel better running.  I will be fast again!
