Personal:

I'm married to Nan Kennard and she kicks my butt at running.  She has beat me handily in every race we have done together except for a downhill mile we did once.  She is my running inspiration.  I'd like to run a marathon with her someday and actually keep up.

What a beautiful morning to be running through the mountains!!  Sunny and 40+ Degrees.

Here are my stats from the run:

 9.27 Miles - 1:57:54 - 12:43/mile - HR: 144 avg - Ascent/Descent: 3600 Ft.

We didn't make it up Green Mountain because it was a bit icy so we ran around on flagstaff mountain instead.

What a fun morning.  I really wanted to keep going for another couple hours...but that will have to wait for another day.

What a nice day. Your stats are almost identical to ours. It looks like you guys had a fun time out there. Nice job. I liked the video.

Looked like a great day! That's a good amount of climbing. Nice on the video, Sometimes its good to see it rather than just read about it. Congrats to Nan on her first trail run?.

Yeah, that was interesting to see how close those stats were scott...looked like a great run you guys had also.

Bryce...well...it definitely wasn't Nan's first trail run. She actually won a 10K trail run in breckenridge last summer. I guess what I meant by that was it was her first mountain trail run this year. Her calves were burning like mine were last monday on my first peak ascent. It's cool how quickly the body gets accustomed to the steep running, Today I felt so much stronger on the hills than last Monday.

Aaron, the camera work is a little shaky, we will have to work on that if you decide to be pro :-) but a cool video and great idea. you need to get Nan into some treks.

I just commented on your video in youtube. my alias there is "askdrscience". just so you know it was me. the redrooster. Scott. askdrscience. or whatever.

Not to call out the differences, but you had 3600 ft of gain/loss. We had 3575 of just gain. Double ours for a total gain/loss of about 7000+. Unless, yours was 3600 up and down too. Not sure what you meant.

I won't lie though, your run looked better. Ha. Congrats on what can only be categorized as a perfect day.

From Aaron Kennard on Sun, Mar 14, 2010 at 07:46:18 from 69.18.151.138

Dr. rooster - unfortunately my phone camera doesn't come equipped with one of those weighted stabilizers so its destined to be shaky if I run while videoing...oh well, the better to make you all sick with!

Jun- by "gain/loss" I mean 3600 up and 3600 down, so we were about the same. My garmin actually said 3507 ascent and 3715 descent, which doesn't really make sense since I started and ended at the same place...so I just chose the number in between. It was a great day, and after a week of only steep trail running, I'm finding myself deeply addicted...I think I need to go for a flat barefoot run here soon just to keep myself grounded or I might find myself only wanting to run up mountains all the time.

Oh, right. We were the same then. That is so crazy. Your run still looked prettier, although ours wasn't too shabby. I cant complain.
