Personal:

Pride necessarily sprouts and grows; a pride that can only come from relentless kneading of unwilling flesh, painful months of grinding and burning away all that is heavy, all that is strength-sapping and useless to the body as a projectile. --John L. Parker, Jr., runner/author

I have made a committment to prioritize my personal health and fitness, not only for myself, but also for my family.  During the work week, my training will necessarily, though not ideally, include training runs on the treadmill at JP Fitness, which is located in my building.  Most long-runs will be pushed to Sunday to facilitate outdoor training.

Today's workout included 2 Miles at 7:03/mile (1.0 incline), which was comfortably below my target Marathon Pace of 7.15/mile, followed by 2 Miles at Tempo Pace (6:41/mile), followed by 2 Miles at Marathon Pace.  For the most part, I felt strong throughout, and I attempted to count my strides at least every mile.  I am still working to consistently stride 180 times/minute; approximately 174 on average, but it's early yet!

Welcome to the blog. Nice pace on your workout there. If you put the miles in, you are going to shatter those personal bests listed in your profile info. Good luck.

A couple of the other attornies that I know of on the blog are flatlander and RivertonPaul.

Welcome to the blog! Increasing your stride rate and getting the proper stride length (shorter in front, longer in the kick!) is a change that takes some time but pays off in injury prevention and pace improvement!
