An awesome run to cap off a pretty sorry running week!  I ran a 3 mile warm up, 3.75 miles fast (8 min pace) and then a little under a mile cool down.  It felt pretty good and I finished it in avg. 8:40 pace (insert pat on the back here).

Today I missed a meet for only the 3rd time in 10 years of coaching (I missed one 2 days before I gave birth and another for a wedding in Colorado, so I've had good reason) and I'm anxious to see how the kids did.  Instead I sat in class all day.  I'm not too heartbroken because I hate this meet (9 separate races on an interesting but cowchip dotted course), but class wasn't exactly a rip-roaring good time either.

Oh yeah!  And I got my new shoes.

Yeah new shoes!

Hey are you training for a race? I can't remember--Just curious

oh and have you ran the Illinois Marathon? That is pretty close to you isn't it?

I don't have any races planned right now because of XC. I might try to do something Columbus Day weekend because we don't have a race that weekend, but I think I'm going to Chicago, so I have to do some searching.

I ran the Illinois 1/2 this past year (it was the first time they had it). Champaign is 15 miles from me.
