Honestly, I need to get my PR's compiled.  This is something I started a year ago and then lost my file.  I have them on my old computer but need to dig them out.  There is still more I need to find.

Short-Term Running Goals:

February 1st: Frosty 5k
February 22nd: Run for the Cookies
April 6th: Scranton Half Marathon (with Wes)
July 19th: New York Giants Run of Champions
October: Gettysburg Half Marathon

On top of some races, need to lose some weight to get to a good competition weight and also need to get rid of all my injuries.  I would also like to drop my times

This year I would also like to hit 1000 miles during the year.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I think that eventually I would like to qualify for Boston.  That is something that weighs on me but not as bad as not completing a marathon.  Think I will take the approach of trying to complete a marathon within the next 3 years and then we will see after that.

I also want to keep dropping my times and stay competitive in age groups and get competitive overall.

Personal:

I am 29 years old, soon to be 30 and I have the best most supportive wife (Courtney) and we just had our first child (Isaac) in December.  I ran track most of high school and one year of Cross Country.  I then went to college where I ran for a year on the college team.  Since then I have been trying to get myself back on track with my running, I run more days then not but I have not been able to have one year without some type of injury.  I would really like to get back to being injury free and a competitive runner.

18:08 for 2 miles.  I know that I should be happy that I was out there but that just won't cut it for me.  I have a long way to go.  I am hoping that this foot gets back so that I can do the Run for the Diamonds, maybe that is over-zealous but I am going to try for it.  Maybe being upbeat will get me to the start line.

Steve!! What's up, buddy?

Hey Wes! I guess it has been a long time since I have been on here. Well lots of things happening but nothing good and nothing involving running. I mangled my finger, either separated my shoulder or severly strained it, and now I have Layrangitis. I have also been working like a dog between work and my master's classes. I keep feeling twinges in my foot so I haven't run, probably should go back to the podiatrist but don't want him to give me the cortisone shot, I wish there was a natural way to fix it.

Anyway enough about me, how have you been? How is the family? Have you been doing well with your runs? How's work?

I hear ya on the time flies thing. I can't believe I started a project for a family friend back in March but haven't made hardly any progress on it yet at all. I thought it had only been a couple of months. Sigh...

I'm sorry to hear about your finger & shoulder! What happened?? Married life is tough but that seems a little too rough!

Busy is the word for my life too. Running just isn't happening like I've wanted it to. The foot still hurts a little, and I've developed a corn or something in between my 4th and 5th toes of my other foot, so that's painful at times. I'd be getting out more, but by the time I have a few minutes to myself it's 10pm. Since I haven't run since Sat's Dirt Monster, I'm taking the first chance I've had today and heading out. Funny thing is that I really do enjoy running at night. It's just usually when I'm the most tired so it's harder to get myself motivated to get out.

I was told after my stress fracture healed to go get new orthotics. I've decided not to do it and for the last few months have just been running without them. I think they might make a difference for me, but I think I just need to strengthen my feet/legs. I'm avoiding them until it's bad enough I feel like I need them.

Family is doing well, work is crazy busy but I guess that's a good thing. I just need to find a little more time for "me." I don't know how you do it; working, family, school...you rock to be able to handle all that!

Hang in there and keep in touch!
