Drove over to Riverwoods then ran up the river trail up to Trefoil and back down.  Ran into the PR 1/2 marathoner's coming down the canyon about a mile or 2 into their race.  Sasha was leading at the time and looks like he held on for 1st place.  Also saw the great one - Terry Bean - who was loafing a little bit at the time and FRBer Jeff L right behind him.

On the way down I caught up to the back of the race pack around Bridal Veil and had fun passing a zillion people the rest of way.  It was a nice distraction and helped make the last 5 miles of the 22 miler go by quickly.

Just kept the pace nice and easy the whole time in hopes that I'll have some life in the legs next week for Hobble Creek.

Thanks guys. Brent I've been mainly using races for my long tempo runs since they seem to go better that way! :) I feel pretty good about my 1/2 marathon time-trial on the Hobble course last week, it will be interesting to see how the actual race compares.

I'm kind of working things so every other weekend is a long run (20-23 miles) at mostly easy pace, with the in between Saturdays being hard tempo runs but in the 15-17 mile range, mostly races. Just hope my body can hold out on this schedule so I can go into SGM feeling pretty good. Always tricky trying to figure out how best to train.

Loafing? I hope my running style looks smooth and easy enough to make me look like I'm loafing when I'm running at a 6 min. mile pace going down hill.

I was hoping you'd turn around and pace me for a mile or two when I saw you. Or at least I needed a quarter mile of you yelling at me to get my head in gear, start racing, run smooth and get the pain level up.
