Enjoyed a great Payson canyon  run with Kim, 3.4 miles up and 6.6 down. Beautiful morning, foxy running partner, great scenery and mild temps. Wildlife sightings included a bunch of deer and Kim's cousin-in-law on his bike.

I really seem to be getting my legs back lately, and the chronic ache & pain areas have mellowed out (hamstring, lower abs, etc), feet happy too. Took off the last downhill mile into town and ran a 6:42. I'll call it MP since it was downhill and it felt like MP.

Great way to start the day.

So do you think all the XTraining is the key to less ache's and pains or is it the easier running you've been doing?

Thanks Kelli. I can't believe the schedule you've been on with all the miles and sometimes not much sleep. You must have super powers! That being said - please be careful not to overdo it.

Terry - I'm not sure but I think it's been since I started adding very short bursts of speed/strides and occasional MP mile (but ONLY when I'm feeling good/perky and not necessarily according to any schedule) that I really noticed the hamstrings starting to loosen up. Plus I've held the mileage pretty steady the last month and I think my legs have finally gotten used to some decent mileage. Only other thing I can think of is that we've been doing lots of hills both up and down and maybe that's helped as well. And maybe the XT does help, I know I can sure get some good stretching in after the XT, better than after most runs.

Thanks, I am just listening to my body. I think I am abnormal in the amount of miles I can handle, but I will cut back or stop at the first sign of pain (esp. the PF!!! That is a nightmare when it gets out of control.)

My super power is something called caffeine!!! ;o)

Wild life cousin in law hey, no pain is good, testing you speed a bit and flying, what a feeling.
