2 mile warmup. SLCTC Winter Series 10k. 1 mile cooldown. Based on my 5k two weeks ago, I was hoping to run around 52 minutes today. Realistically, I figured that I would be around 52:30, but still under 53 even if I felt not so great. Ha ha. I struggled from the start. I went out slowly and my breathing was very labored. I hit the mile in 8:30, the 2 mile in 17, but I was struggling to keep that pace. Each mile got worse from there and after 4 miles I stopped trying to push. Finished in 55 something. Very disappointed, I know I'm in better shape than that. I hope the 15k in 2 weeks goes better. |
