Ran to Sugarhouse, did 3 loops on the grass, ran home.  Overall, this was a pretty nice run and felt much better than last week's 10 miler.  It wasn't the fastest, but I felt pretty good.

I was once again stopped on my run by some random person and asked if I was training for a triathlon.  This is kind of a sore spot for me because it is code for "your legs are huge." Last spring, I was running on the Blue Sky Trail in Fort Collins and a mountain biker asked me what triathlon I was training for.  When I said I was training for the Big Horn 50k, she stared at my legs and said, "oh, I thought you were a cyclist."  This has happened numerous other times over the years. I find it odd because I don't go up to strangers and comment about their body type!

Next time just kick them in the shins and say "I'M TRAINING FOR SOCCER - SHOVE IT!!!"

Ugh, how frustrating. Honestly I think from your recent race pics, you look really toned all over. Maybe that is what they meant.

Haha Jake. I will try that next time. The guy was actually in a car yesterday so it wouldn't have worked too well. He pulled over to ask a question about my dog.

Mandy, I've been getting these comments for at least 10 years. Even at my thinnest (5-10 lbs lighter than now). I think it's just that I don't look like a runner. I admit that I would probably make a much better cyclist than a runner, but I just don't enjoy it as much. And the thought of racing bikes terrifies me.

I think you look like a runner. I actually know very few runners who look like the "stereotypical runner". And the stereotypical runner, in my opinion, is gross.
