Good workout this morning.  Felt a little cooler, maybe a slight breeze, but not exactly ideal either.  Started off with a ¾ mile jaunt to the annex.  Then a warm up with the group followed by drills.  Next up was 2400 meters all out.  Not sure if it was exactly 2400 meters, but I ran 8:51, which is probably my best time this year…that would be around 5:55 mile pace.  I felt good, and was able to speed up a little in the last couple of hundred meters.  We had a 5 minute break, and then we did relays.  Roughly 400 meters then a tag your partner, jog across the field as recovery and then go again.  We did 10 relay legs each.  Then we jogged back to the annex, and then I meandered back to the gym to shower, and then head to work.  9.8 mile total.  The legs are ttired, but the heart was warmed by the run today!

Nice, nice job out there today! Very impressed!

I am not sure about cooler - the outside temp on my car read 81 degrees after the run.

As for the distance, my Garmin read 1.54 miles and 2400m = 1.4912 miles. So if anything we were a bit long.

BTW - looks like I will be running the San Antonio half as a tune up race for CIM.

Thanks for your kind words. You had a fantastic run…I was pleased that it was an 800 meter lap as otherwise I might have been lapped ;o).

I wanted to see what I could do at this stage of training, and I was pretty pleased. There is still plenty of work to be done, but I hope to build a little confidence and belief and go with it!
