Long time away from the blog. Quick update. I've done three marathons over the past year and a half. Utah Valley X2 and Big Cottonwood. My times were 3:11, 3:17, and 3:39. I've struggled at the end of each to varying degrees. After talking with Sasha, I need to rebuild my base and start with shorter races. Starting with a goal of 16:30 for 5k. My goal for my next marathon will be under 3:00, but for the next little while I wil focus on shorter races.

My first workout with the SLC Track Club. Did 8 400s with Jon Hansen (a friend from high school) and Kirkwood. This was my first speed workout in a long time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I did better than I thought I would. I was consistently 6-7 seconds behind Jon and Kirk except for the seventh one, where I was right with them. My splits were:

1:19
1:19
1:20
1:19
1:19
1:15
1:06
1:09

Overall I felt really good. It helped having others to run with on intervals. I pushed it a little too hard on the seventh one, and I was struggling at the end of the eighth, but I was very happy with this workout.
