Today was our Region meet. I was running the 3200. It was postponed for an hour or so, until the 3200. The track was really wet, but it had mostly stopped raining. We started out in a big pick for the first mile, with Kyle taking it out. We came through the mile at about 5:01 or so. After that Steve really pushed it and easily pulled ahead. Jason tried to stay with him, but couldn't. I sticked behind him, but he dropped back. Oliver moved up, and I stayed right with him. With 800 to go he really pushed it, and I stuck with him. I took the lead going into the last lap, and he pulled in front of me on the backstretch. he had a couple of seconds on me with 200 left, and I didn't have much left. I sort of backed off the last 100, because I had more races tomorrow and he got me by about 4-5 seconds. Third and fourth were about 9:59 or so. |
