Running Accomplishments:

I started running in 2008 while I was a stay-at-home-mom.  I discovered this blog in July 2010 and followed the advice from the blog to gradually improve my distance/speed.  I achieved various PR's in 2010/2011.   I went back to work part-time in 2012-2015 and switched to mostly running trail runs.   When I got prego with my third child in 2016, I stopped running and started work full-time.   After a 7 year hiatus, I returned to running in 2022.  I have alot of work to do to get back in shape, but looking forward to the challenge!

8 miles at 4:45am. Weather=76 degrees, 57% humidity, 59 dew point, 3mph wind, dark.

No watch today. Ran with Ash and Tim. Tim said average pace was 8:55 but we had some faster miles of around 8:30 in the middle.

My 1 year old is such a restless sleeper. He wakes up at least 3-4 times a night now and I'm the one who has to get up to check on him. I'm really suffering from chronic lack of sleep. I feel so... unenthusiastic about everything lately. Blah, blah. How can one exercise as much as I do and feel so down?

---------------

5 miles at 1 pm. Weather=71 degrees, 50% humidity, 10 mph wind gusting to 22 mph, mostly cloudy. Average pace=8:56/m.

My sister is babysitting my 4 year old today. The weather was so nice I decided that instead of doing the responsible thing and catching up on housework, I would take Ryan to Trinity Park and push him in the running stroller. It worked out really nice because he fell asleep. The miles ranged from 8:45 to 9:05 pace depending on whether I was going against the wind. I would have kept running but it started to sprinkle and I didn't think Ryan would enjoy getting wet.

It occured to me that maybe I've felt kinda down lately because I'm vitamin D deficient. I run in the dark in the morning and then I stay indoors all day avoiding the heat. Now that it's getting cooler outside during the day, I need to get myself and my boys outside more.

I'm feeling great after this afternoon run. Still really fresh... I don't feel like I ran at all today.

Nice when you can do a double and still feel rested.

In our house, I seem to be the one that wakes up when a kid has a nightmare or something. Curse of being the lighter sleeper..

Yeah, it's crazy being married to such a different sleeper than me! I'm a light sleeper and morning person. He's a deep sleeper and night owl. He is in a great mood at night and grumpy in the morning and I am the exact opposite.

He is such a deep sleeper! If I try to wake him up to help me with a child, he doesn't wake up easily and then once he does come two, he is confused and rude. It's not worth it. He makes the children cry even more with his attitude. I just handle it myself. It's hard to hold it against him too much because the next day he doesn't remember anything!

What we figured out after some really stressful trial and error is for him to stay up late (he's a night owl anyways) so if they wake up between the hours of 8pm and midnight or so, it's his job. And then once he's asleep, it's my job.

That used to be more fair, but now it seems all the waking up is on my shift.

Me getting up to run earlier than him also works out because he never hears his alarm right away and he pushes snooze button so many times! It would be impossible for me to sleep through that. I'm up after 1st alarm.
