Running Accomplishments:

I started running in 2008 while I was a stay-at-home-mom.  I discovered this blog in July 2010 and followed the advice from the blog to gradually improve my distance/speed.  I achieved various PR's in 2010/2011.   I went back to work part-time in 2012-2015 and switched to mostly running trail runs.   When I got prego with my third child in 2016, I stopped running and started work full-time.   After a 7 year hiatus, I returned to running in 2022.  I have alot of work to do to get back in shape, but looking forward to the challenge!

AM

Ran 8 miles along the Trinity river trails with Brenda and Ashley today.  It was really fun.  We talked the whole time.  We went slow because the two of them are running a half next weekend and they wanted to take it easy.  I was content to take it easy because I'm doing a 5k tomorrow morning.  Average pace = 8:30/m.  This is the pace I run around my neighborhood most days.  Actually, today was easier though because there are no hills by the river and my neighborhood has several.  I don't even feel like I ran today.

Now my husband and I are going to meet up with my friend, Stephanie, and her boyfriend for lunch....  at the Rahr Beer Brewery!  Steph just flew in from New Jersey and I hadn't seen her since September.  And the best part is.... I've got a babysitter!!!!!!!!  I mean, of course I do... I wouldn't be going to a brewery with kids!  Ha, ha!  We are so excited because this is the first time since January 1st my husband and I got a babysitter.  And we're going out!  With other adults!!!   As exciting as this is, I've got to take it easy cuz of the 5k tomorrow.   I have to be back by 4 pm anyways, so how crazy could I get.

 ----------------

PM

The Brewery was fun!!  Not what I expected.  There was a band and food...  and you could sample different beers and there was a tour of the brewery to see how they made the different kinds.  So cool.   Then afterwards we went to eat mexican food... no, I mean seriously pig out on mexican food.  So fun.

So when I got home at 5:30pm, I started thinking about the race tomorrow.  Stephanie talked my husband into coming... and get this!! ... bringing my kids... something that he has done exactly once in my entire running career.  I am excited now.  I want to do good.  However, to do good, maybe I shouldn't have had 3 beers.  Ok... so maybe I could do a quick 2 mile run and see how fast I am.  Maybe it'll help burn some alcohol off.

Mile 1- 7:17

Mile 2- 7:28

So not as fast as last Friday when I averaged 7:09 for my 2 mile fast run.  Oh well, at least I had fun.  I don't know what the goal tomorrow should be.  I want to do at least 21:30.  I hope that is feasible.
