Running Accomplishments:

I started running in 2008 while I was a stay-at-home-mom.  I discovered this blog in July 2010 and followed the advice from the blog to gradually improve my distance/speed.  I achieved various PR's in 2010/2011.   I went back to work part-time in 2012-2015 and switched to mostly running trail runs.   When I got prego with my third child in 2016, I stopped running and started work full-time.   After a 7 year hiatus, I returned to running in 2022.  I have alot of work to do to get back in shape, but looking forward to the challenge!

Perfect running temperature today.  It was wonderful!  Tim and went a little faster in the middle but then we started talking and slowed down.  He is running a 5K race tomorrow at the Rahr Brewery.  It's a fun race and afterwards they have free food and beer.  They even have beer pancakes apparently!  I'm running 14 miles with the group at the store and then I'm driving over to the Brewery to hang out with them.  The group run starts at 6:30am and the 5K race is at 9am.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get there in time to see the race.

It was difficult for me to wake up today because I was so tired.  I went to bed at 9pm but I had to get up a couple times with the baby.  I am going to have to do sleep training with him or else I'm going to go crazy.  I can't continue doing this every night.

When I got back from running, I took a nap of about an hour until the kids woke up.

Now that's impressive - you can get up, run 10K, then come home and take an hour nap -- all before the kids get up. Very nice!

Love those mornings. You must be a great mom to juggle everything! Good luck with the little one. He has one good thing going for him..... his name!Rye is short for Ryan.

Ha, ha~! Timp, yeah, I guess I did run a 10k and nap before they woke up. I used to think I didn't have time to run in the mornings. I had this mental block where I never would have considered waking up at 4:15 am. Funny how much you can get done once you remove that barrier.

So Ryan, does anyone ever call you Rye Guy? That's what I call my son.

From Rye on Fri, Sep 23, 2011 at 17:38:32 from 174.27.78.215

I have been called that before! My dad called me Ryeberg. Still trying to figure out that one!

Man...the 4 am thing is rough...you need a nap or maybe I need one after thinking about it!

Hey Lindsey, I was going to ask if you run the Cowtown marathon and if so what you think about it?

From TexasLindsey on Sun, Sep 25, 2011 at 10:55:49 from 71.153.27.31

Cowtown is a good race. They just changed the course in 2010 and I like it. It a very well organized race. I ran the 1/2 marathon and the course took you through all the cultural district, the famous Fort Worth Stockyards and downtown. There was one really big hill on this part around mile 9.

My friends who ran the marathon said the rest of the course was pretty good too. It goes through the zoo area, TCU and around the Trinity River.

Last year it was horrible weather though. Really unusual. Normally, Cowtown is like 40's or 50's temperature... so perfect for racing. That's what we were training in. However, Cowtown 2010 was like 65 degrees at start and 70% humidity. People were off their marathon targets by like 7-10 minutes.
