Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

PRed in Malibu Nov. 2009 with a 4:00:25, I think.  Shy of sub-4 hours and shy of BQ 3:45.

Other marathon times:

May 2009: Orange County (4:21) and LA (4:15)

Feb. 2010: Surf City (4:09)

Took a couple years off from running in 2013-2014. Haven't done any marathons since 2011 though I started doing half marathons again in 2017.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Still want to qualify for Boston (3:55).

Want to qualify for the NYC Marathon by running a 1:42 half marathon.

Upcoming Races

Long Beach Half Marathon Oct. 8

Surf City Marathon Feb. 2018--I'm training to try to BQ.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to keep running marathons into my 70s.

Personal:

Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.  Wash your spirit clean. --John Muir

I stole this from Tom's blog because I really like it:

Hudson tidbit: "When it's done right, the long-term training process is like an asymptote. The line that the training process moves toward but never reaches is 'perfect training'.....while it's impossible to train perfectly, it is possible to train better and better."

Had an accident last week and twisted both ankles.  Made me have to miss the 10 mile race on Sat. and miss my weekly mileage.  The time off was wise though; I'm hoping to get back to where I was this week.  Did this 6 miles in 57 minutes, a little faster than usual because my legs were fresh from 5 days off.

1:00  Had to walk at the end cuz my ITB was hurting--must've gotten messed up in my fall.

6 miles in 55 minutes.  ITB wasn't bothering me today, but still all those ankle and tendon issues from the fall are aching.  Hanging in there though.
