Late night intervals at the track; it was still 80 degrees when I started at 10:15 and not much cooler when I finished. 5 x 600 at somewhere around 7:15 pace. May have extended the recovery periods beyond the suggested :90 to get some water, but not much, and I was still sucking wind after each one and well into the warmdown miles. Actually ran faster than I was planning; I was thinking 7:30ish. But I couldn't see the watch except under the lamps at each end and 7:15 just felt like a fast comfortable.

Progression run on the mill at the hospital. Wasn't sure how far I'd go after last night's intervals; maybe only 5. But I loosened pretty quickly and felt OK and started to push the pace, and cranked it to MP for the last 16 minutes before a 0.5 cooldown. It was nice to go home after one of those instead of putting my scrubs and beeper back on.

Looks like the 20K Saturday has been scrubbed. Miss V wanted to go out with me Friday night. Given that choice -- a minimally important race or an evening with a woman I like very much -- didn't take long to decide.
