Oklahoma run. In the rain, Chased by dogs in "downtown" Moffett. Nauseated. ITB stiff and sore. Other than that, nothing to it. Got it done before the thunderboomers moved in, which is nice.

Thirty degrees colder today in Fort Smith than it is in Boston. Also colder here than it will be in Hopkinton on race morning. Weird. Just a shakedown run to SHS and back. Legs felt OK, no ITB trouble. Had to fight the wind just a tad, but that's good practice for next Monday too. Invited Stef from the dailies to join the carbload, and she accepted., so that'll be nice. One week to go...

Up with the crazies after about two hours' sleep to push it a bit at BG. They ran off and left me, of course, and I couldn't see them in the dark, so I turned around at the golf course gate.

Creekmore run with Sheri and Cindy S. Took it easy for most of the way, but the last mile and a half I practiced reeling in a runner well in front of me, since I think I'll be doing a lot of that Monday from Wave 4. Caught her with maybe 3/4 mile to go. Then I went to the hospital, showered there and worked my shift.

Hadn't intended to go this far, but the bridge I planned to use to get back to Boston from Cambridge was closed, so I went to the next bridge. Beautiful morning for a dawn run. Saw Shalane Flanagan, jogging along at 6:30 pace, on the Mass Avenue bridge.
