Today we ran Mt. Pisgah. It was cold outside and looked like it was going to rain, but it made the air feel good. We had an interval workout of 1 minute hard, 1 minute active recovery, 30 seconds hard, 30 seconds recovery, and so on. After a 8 minute warmup we started and we were supposed to do this for 15 minutes. Mt. Pisgah is a gradaul inlcine on a gravel road which helped add to the difficulty. My legs were pretty tired mainly because I have been trying to put in as much milage as I could this week, aiming for 70. I could feel the soreness in my legs from the hill workout we did earlier in the week. At the end of the 15 minutes of intervals I was at 3 miles, and then I ran for another mile up so when I finished I could have 8 miles. On the way back it started to rain really heavy rain, but it felt good. The whole way down my knees were hurting a lot and I didn't want to push it down hill. I was going about a 6:40 mile pace on the way down. Last time on this run I hurt myself on the down hill, so I'm glad didn't do that this time. As usual, when i got home, I was tired, so I slept after I got something to eat. I'm not looking forward to doing atleast another 5 miles tonight, but I got to if I'm going to get 70 miles.
