Have run 22 marathons to date.

No injuries, ever.   :)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Qualify for Boston (4:05 for my age/gender) - or, perhaps, to use my desire for a BQ as a way to get in the hated speed work so I don't just get slower and slower over the years.  This goal is "under (re)construction" right now, until I figure out whether it is truly what I want. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

To continue learning about myself and about running, and to enjoy being a fit, happy runner for life.   To always know why I am running and the best way to get the most (both mentally and physically) out of my runs.  To keep a sense of humor and remain optimistic about myself as a runner.  To enjoy running more and more with every passing year.

Personal:

Baby boomer generation.  Jogged a little in my 20's and 30's.  Started running seriously in 2002.  Low-carb runner since January 2010.

I love long runs and cold, cloudy weather.  I don't believe in "junk miles."  I am an optimist.  I adore dark chocolate, fog, my family, and knitting -- not necessarily in that order.

"As every runner knows, running is about more than just putting one foot in front of the other; it is about our lifestyle and who we are."  -- Joan Benoit Samuelson

Wow lots of monkeys today... hope you are able to shake them off soon.

5 monkeys?!?! they'll start to jump off shortly.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Jun 10, 2010 at 10:50:46 from 24.8.167.243

Maybe the monkeys ate all the soreness and now that the soreness is all gone, they'll get hungry and leave.

From auntieem on Thu, Jun 10, 2010 at 11:06:03 from 24.18.77.246

The monkeys will take one look at our weather and go away! Glad you are not too sore. I am coming down your way on the 19th! Running the Fall City Days 5K.

Holy cow, 5 PER leg? Good job getting out there Sno.

Any news on TCWMBO?

From Snoqualmie on Thu, Jun 10, 2010 at 13:53:29 from 24.18.192.33

They're heavy, but at least they're not loud. And the next time my doc tells me I need to take breaks from running (she is always concerned about adrenal fatigue), I can show her this week's log!

I often am still going down stairs backwards by Wednesday and Thursday, so this has been a super quick recovery in that way. But really, I didn't race 26.2, only about 16-18. I'll be back in the saddle in no time.

Barb, please keep your monkey; I've got plenty. lol

A-Em, I'll miss you! We will be at a cousin's wedding that day. Bummer. You will like that race. Very flat and fast.

Bonnie, no news. We visited shelters yesterday. Desperately sad thing to do. I miss him so much. The other two are mostly SnoFlake's cats. This one is my baby and my gem. Uh oh, here come the tears. I fear the worse but still hope.

that is a lot of monkeys.

Sorry you haven't found your cat :(

Good job getting you and your monkeys out there! I'm a firm believer in 'active recovery'.

I sure hope your cat materializes soon :(
