Have run 22 marathons to date.

No injuries, ever.   :)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Qualify for Boston (4:05 for my age/gender) - or, perhaps, to use my desire for a BQ as a way to get in the hated speed work so I don't just get slower and slower over the years.  This goal is "under (re)construction" right now, until I figure out whether it is truly what I want. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

To continue learning about myself and about running, and to enjoy being a fit, happy runner for life.   To always know why I am running and the best way to get the most (both mentally and physically) out of my runs.  To keep a sense of humor and remain optimistic about myself as a runner.  To enjoy running more and more with every passing year.

Personal:

Baby boomer generation.  Jogged a little in my 20's and 30's.  Started running seriously in 2002.  Low-carb runner since January 2010.

I love long runs and cold, cloudy weather.  I don't believe in "junk miles."  I am an optimist.  I adore dark chocolate, fog, my family, and knitting -- not necessarily in that order.

"As every runner knows, running is about more than just putting one foot in front of the other; it is about our lifestyle and who we are."  -- Joan Benoit Samuelson

63F, very humid.  Pretty clouds with some clear sky.  Easy pace run.

I believe we've got some actual rain coming. Imagine that.  In Washington State of all places.

It rained up here last night! Just enough to water the ground. Very pretty morning, but quite humid.

Beautiful morning! We have had nothing but rain! Aside from the humidity, I have loved it! The lightening and thunder scares me sometimes, and the hail storm I drove in yesterday was a bit over the top (and dented my car). but otherwise, I LOVE IT!!!! It has felt like your neck of the woods for a few weeks.

Have a great weekend!

I hear ya Kelli! You and I like the same weather. :) (And fear the same- lightening. It's about the only thing I won't run in besides sheet ice.)

Beautiful picture Sno. In answer to your question from a few days ago, I DID see the red sky from the fires. It was spectacular! The convention center is right on the water, with the mountains not far away and it was truly a beautiful place. Plus, the weather was heavenly. I wish I could have come down to see you, I just couldn't do it, I am so swamped with work that has to get done before the semester starts. Lovely place that PNW!!

Wunderground says rain Sat. and Sun.

It'll be a nice break!

Bonnie - no worries! Even though Vancouver is pretty close as the crow flies (I can see it from my kitchen on a clear day!), with the border crossing it is a long, long trip. My own sister was there a couple of weeks ago to go on an Alaskan cruise and she didn't visit me either.

Dave - we are in for thunder/lightening tonight I think. I don't know if you can see it from there, but HUGE thunderheads are hovering over the Cascades. Com'on cool air!!

gorgeous day!

Lightening scares me! And then there is the thunder that has been shaking my house. YIKES! But it does make for beautiful sunsets and rises (and cooler temps).

I hope you get your rain.

Beautiful picture. That reminds me that I took a nice sunrise picture on my run this morning. Now I just have to figure out how to get it off my phone.
