Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Decided not to run Sandhollow Marathon down in Hurricane tomorrow.  Weater.com states that it will be windy S 15-20mph with gust possibly at 40mph.  Since we are speaking at sacrament plus teaching 3 sessions, and Pres. LeSeur and his wife will be visiting our branch, I need the time to prepare for Sunday and also not be wasted.

Ran with Wendy to meet Karen.  West to Center on MCT.  Drank at 1500 W restroom and turned back east.  South to Karen's house then home.

TT: 1:08:02.  AP: 13:35.  Splits:  12:31, 12:48, 13:39, 14:06, 14:55,

Since I'm not running the Sandhollow Marathon today, thought I'd do a long run and Karen was kind enough to accompany me the first 8 miles.  Ate a breakfast of yogurt and banana and headed out at 7:15 to meet Karen at her house.  We ran on MCT doing the 4:1 and walking uphill.  Stopped at Mitch Hollow, Lone Peak restroom to use the facility and drank water.  Karen gave me her Chews when we reached the Canyon Rd restroom and her husband came to pick her up.  I had run over 9+ miles at that point and she had run 8 miles.  After a brief visit with Mark and bid goodbye I continued south on MCT and was going to finish at trail end at 800 N Orem which would give me 17+miles.

Lisa Liddiard texted to ask if I could sub for her this evening at the temple.  After couple of text exchanges, she found Sis. Child to sub for her so did not need me.  The south wind got stronger the further I ran so I decided to turn around at mile 10.25 and called Larry that I'm running home and no need to pick me up in Orem.

Stopped at the three restrooms breifly to drink.  Took a Gu at Lone Peak reststop.  I was really tired and the wind made it tough.  The thought that I should've run the Sandhollow today crossed my mind.  I know I would regret not having run the marathon.
