Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

What a fun party we had last night.  THANKS MICHELLE for hosting it.  I LOVE your home...I'm ready to move into your guest room...Go Cougs!  THANKS Kelli & Scott for the ride and great company!  You guys are the best!

I've never had soup so OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD!!!  The appetizers were to die for and then the cakes were scrumptious.  I think I ate my hubby's share.  He had to stay home because of the stupid bronchitis.   I did make him see the doc. and is on antibiotics.  Hopefully he will be able to preside and speak tonight and tomorrow for Stake Conference...poor guy!

The games were wicked fun.  Runners can't keep a poker face; but sure know how to point fingers.  Haha!!! Anyway, got home after 11pm and had to recap the whole night's party for hubby.  He was jealous.  I think I overdosed on desserts because I could not sleep; then hubby's hacking cough woke me up too early.

I had such a hangover that I was going to bag the run today.  Then Carolyn called and wanted to run with me.  Ran 5.5 with her in the hood average pace 9:36.  After dropping her off, I got a drink and ate a yogurt then went for 5.5 more.  The legs felt pretty good so decided to tempo it a bit, average pace 8:49.

What a gorgeous day!  How long will this weather last?

Wow you should eat cake more often if it leads to a great 11 mile run!

Great run Smoothie-Q. Enjoy S. conference tonight and tomorrow. I hope Pres. feels better soon, Bronchitis is the worst! It really doesn't do away until you are faithful to meds. I still have a little in me from 2 years ago!

Kathie ~

I'm gonna add that to my carb-load from now on! :)

Bec ~

Stake Conference went well. Pres. had a bloody nose Sat. and no one suspected it. He didn't shake anyone's hands; but I was amazed at how he could talk without a single cough because he coughed all night long and did not sleep a wink. He's taking a nap now and felt so relieved that Conference is over. I think he did a wonderful job speaking 3 times, all inspired!

Teena ~

Larry says "THANKS" for the well wishes. I wasn't even going to run when I first woke up. Had no idea what possessed me...must be the tres-leche cake.

Rhett ~

It was. I hope to introduce you to Kelli and Kellie (who were at the b'day party) at Boston'10. Both of them and their husbands will be running Boston.

Nice run Smooth! It was all that carb loading that made the legs so happy :) I am SO happy and not surprised that your hubby was blessed to be able to speak so well and feel well in order to preside over such an important meeting!
