Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

There was no knee pain when I woke up.  Was really tempted to go for a run; but went to the Gold's Gym instead.  I was impressed with the Gym.  I tried out the ArcTrainer.  I like the LifetimeFitness ellipticals better than the Precor.   Also tried out the strength training machines for various muscle groups.  I don't think they make equipments for a 4'10.5" person! :)  I think I was there for 3 hours, another sweat fest! :)

Hubby got done w/ his work early so we went to the movie, Tangle.  I really liked the movie, love the part about *dreams*!  Hubby usually doesn't care for animation movies.  But he liked this one.  Then we went to the Dixie Center for the Expo and packet pickup.  The Bank has a booth there.  Then we went to Red Lobster for dinner, long wait.

Posting from my iPad thus has to *comment* here:

Went to Gold's Gym courtesy of the hotel's complimentary pass. The Gym here in SG is so much bigger and nicer than the Gym in Kingwood.

20 min on the Arc Trainer! Thought about Rhett & RiveertonPaul who used to train on this thing which is definitely too big for my petite frame!:). But I do like how smooth it feels and most resembles running motion!

60 min elliptical on various program w/ lowest level set at 5 and highest at 14. Kept pace mostly @ 7mph HR @ 160.

The guy next to me kept looking at my *workout readings*. I think I kicked his trash! :)

Then I tried out all the strength resistance machines working various muscle groups at 30-40 lbs and 60 reps each. that took about 50 min.

Just reading about your workout when you are taking it easy before a half-marathon makes me tired.

Oh, while on the elliptical I was watching the today show. They had this violinist, I think his name is David Garret. He looks like my son, Eric who is also a violinist/violist/runner! He has this album out called Rock Symphony. He played the Bethoven Surprise Symphony with a rock band! It was awesome. That will be the kind of music I would run with, classical w/ an exciting tempo and rockin' attitude!!! :)

Nancy ~ I am tired too!!!
