Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Teena told me to do yoga last night before bedtime.  It really helped.  Slept well.  Got a late start due to numerous interruptions so it was getting warm.  Luckily I was blessed with a nice cloud covering the whole run.  :)  Lead legs.  Drank water at the elementary school, Gu'd at the fountain of youth.  AP: 9:50

Ran to Alpine via Suncrest Rd.  The mountains already ablaze w/ changing colors, red maples, golden scrub oaks and aspens.  Just in time for our hike tomorrow...so excited!

Stretch, ice, foam roll are in order today.

You run a lot, and race a lot, and then run some more. Crazy :)

Ha ha. I agree with Jason. Smooth does run a lot. Pretty sure Smooth makes up for all of my lost miles this year. ;)

Great run. Sounds like you are on the road to recovery. I still don't know how you do it Smooth.

Make sure you are resting!!! :)

When I am certain that I have kicked this cold let's get together and we can work on your legs. :)

Love and miss you like crazy! :)

"Gu'd at the fountain of youth." So that's your secret!!! :)

From Nancy on Tue, Sep 14, 2010 at 20:36:35 from 76.27.19.206

I'd like to see that fountain of Youth. Maybe if I got a drink there I would suddenly get younger. Sounds like a beautiful run with the fall colors starting.

A drive on the Alpine Loop will be perfect soon with all the colors! Way to get out there and have a great run!

From Smooth on Thu, Sep 16, 2010 at 15:58:13 from 67.41.235.104

Jason ~ Can hardly wait to see you BQ this Sat. I will be cheering at mile 14! GO Jason GO!

Bec ~ I am so excited for your running. Can't wait to see you celebrate it at SGM.

SSF ~ You are SO NICE to me! You are going to be a GREAT & MARVELOUS PT! I miss you tons! Glad you're tapering so intelligently. You're gonna PR big at SGM. LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Fly ~ Yep! That's the secret. The trick is to get to the fountain often; it's 5.25 miles from my house! :)

Nancy ~ Lotsa cyclists ride by there. Come over to my neck of the woods and I'll show you where it is!

Toby ~ The drive in the Big Cottonwood Canyon was spectacular. The colors on the south facing slopes were so brilliant, red, pink, salmon, gold, yellow brown, green. Can't wait for the drive up to Logan this Sat. for another *Fall color feasting*!

Flat ~ Texas don't have those Fall color changes? :)

Paul ~ I will! :)

Kathie ~ The hike was sooo fun! I had to refrain from running too far ahead though...the ladies were afraid I'd be lost. I did go off towards the peak when the trail forked and the ladies went the other way to the lake. SOOO beautiful up there!
