Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Such a short run, almost not worth getting ready for.  Why am I feeling SO TIRED!!!

Karen looks so beautiful in her new running outfit!  She's gonna be fast and fab on Sat.  I *modeled* the two outfits for hubby last night....."you're gonna wear that?!!!!"....let just say I'll be taking them back to the stores...sigh!!!

The tile guys were supposed to come at 8:30 this morning.  It is now 3pm and NO ONE shows up to work! GrrrRRR!!! The back-order tiles are here though and they look darker than the ones already laid...sigh!!

Weather forecast for Sat. in SG is calling for a sizzling one...sigh!!!

You've been a mighty busy woman with all these home remodels! I bet it's all beautiful. Hope those tile guys show up for ya!

I can't help but think of our pre-race dinner in Boston where you had us so bravely trying new dishes!!!! fun memories. . . . . good luck this Saturday!!!! Can't wait to see ya!

Quit running....it's carb loading taper time. Get off the tread mill of life and get some much needed rest prior to the race saturday.....8 or 9 hours of sleep a night, no excuses!!!! Just Do it!!!!

From Rhett on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 20:10:42 from 74.32.213.84

We started changing out our tile floor in April and it still isn't done. Sounds like the guys up there aren't much better than the ones down here.

Tiredness is just part of the taper. You already know that though. You're going to have so much fun at SGM.

From MarcE on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 23:23:21 from 204.16.82.120

Sounds like you're as stressed as me. :)

I guess that's one reason why I end up trying to remodel things myself. I don't want to wait around for workers to show up.

Get some rest, Smoothie.

Too bad you have to take your outfits back to the store.

Sorry about your construction delays. I'm sure you will do great at St. George.

Very cute newest grandchild picture.

I can't wait to see you in a few days! I know Karen is going to do great!

From Kelli on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 18:43:03 from 71.219.67.175

OH, I bet you looked great!! Darn men. ;o)

I laugh at what you say about running 3 miles! So funny! You get all dressed up for a little tiny run which forces you to shower and it is just more work than it is worth!

SEE YOU SOON!!!! Drive safely!

From Steam8 on Wed, Sep 28, 2011 at 21:39:40 from 166.70.55.77

Ahahahaaa! Oh my...made me laugh! I am always modeling my outfit for my hub before the race too! We are too much alike. He never is much help! ha!

So excited for you to run Sat! I will be thinking of you and hoping for another PR for you! Wish I was going to be there....next year!

From Smooth on Thu, Sep 29, 2011 at 00:38:57 from 174.27.208.222

Amber ~ THANKS!!! I see you're IN for Boston 2012. YOU were the brave on trying out new dishes!

SO EXCITED to go run in YOUR marathon! :)

Can't wait to see you take podium again!

Coach ~ I could NEVER get 8 or 9 hours sleep! How'd you do it? Carb loading started today in earnest! :)

Rhett ~ The tile guy is from Mexico. We could not get the guys that tiled the house the first time and the second time. So frustrating to find help. I thought people need jobs, apparently not so.

Marc ~ Not so much stress as frustrated! :) But it's all good! I just need to learn patience.... :)

Dale ~ You sure are HANDY! It is a lot of work for sure. I will try to get some more sleep but tomorrow night my son has a concert at 7:30 at BYU so it will be late going to bed again.

Nancy ~ Thanks for your words of encouragement! :)

Kathie ~ Can't wait to see you too! Is Heidi running SGM? Karen is so READY to rock at SGM!

Kelli ~ If there was a turtle-neck swim suit, Larry would be the first to buy it for me regardless of the cost! :)

You have a safe drive too. Can't wait to see you! :)

Steamer ~ I think your hubs and mine belong to the same club! Hehe! :)

Wish you were running SGM too! But you and I both have Boston to look forward to, right?!!! :) :) :)
