Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

So so so so so nice to sleep in!  So looking forward to the Dekker Sisters Sale on the Lehi JRP.  Wendy and I got there shortly after 10am.  Kelli had already run 3 miles before our arrival.  :)  SO GREAT to see RAD, QP, allie, Kelli, Steam8, Chad, Annette, Catherine and her husband, Faceless Ghost and their darling baby.

Temp was in the low 40s (I think), calm, cloudy with intermittent sun...PERFECT running weather!  Not sure how far or fast I'd go since the legs were still pretty tight and sore.  Started out with Chad, QP and Wendy.  Stopped at the pop in Willow Park where RAD, QP and Chad waited for me.  Wendy turned around at her 4.5; so ran after her to give her the car key then turned and chased after the others.  At mile 5.25, Steam8 and allie turned around so I turned around with them.  SO NICE of allie and Steam8 to run easy and slow with me! :)  They are such GREAT runners!!!  The miles just flew by...before we knew it, we're back at the car.  THANKS for the company and GREAT chat!!!

RAD and QP brought us hot chocolate, donuts, mandarin oranges and orange/mango juice!  YUM!!!  THANKS for organizing this run, Rachel!  I'm gonna miss QP after she flies home!  The Dekker Sisters Sale is the BEST!!!!  :) :) :) :) :)  I hope we get to do this again! :)

I hope we get to do it again too! It was such a fun run and soooo fun to be able to chat with you on the way back. I wasn't running slow....I was giving it my all! ha! My legs are tired and it feels so good! It was wonderful to see you again. I hope it isn't another 6 months before we can run together again!

Amy ~ It was so wonderful to see you and run and chat this morning! You are so fun!!! Hope you're enjoying your date night with your hub. I don't blame him for not wanting to share you with your running friends! :)

Nancy ~ It was so fun! And you know how Rachelle is...she knows how to put on a party/run! :) You should join us one of these days.

Hey Smooth, have you noticed that you have 2098 miles on the books so far this year? What are you going to do in December???

From RAD on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 17:07:05 from 98.202.23.178

best part about running with friends is that the miles just fly by! SO SO glad you were able to make it and that you brought Wendy. Tell Karen hi for me next time you see her too.

From Chad on Sat, Nov 26, 2011 at 19:44:11 from 71.199.13.143

allie ~ you had no idea how much I loved running with you and learned from you. I just love everything about you! THANKS again for letting me hang with you and Amy. You are the best! :)

Bec ~ I can't wait to see you! I hope hope Rachel will organize another one when you are in town for Christmas. We miss you!

catherine ~ it was nice meeting you and your darling family. No worries about the stroller, no harm done! :) Wish we could've chat some. You guys were so fast even pushing a stroller! :)

Slick ~ I haven't been keeping track of my mileage. Thanks for pointing it out! I just realized I ran 2770 miles last year. Not gonna do that this year. I have no specific plans for Dec. I'd love to run another marathon; but hubby is all burned out! hehehe! I do know we'll be doing some skiing with the fam. over the holidays. May be RAD will organize another fun run! hint hint! :)

RAD ~ THANKS again for organizing this run! So many of my fondest memories are made in running with you and your fan club! :) I emailed Lowell about this and I think he got a little jealous. He said to give everyone a big hug and love from him! :) I need to talk to Karen and hope she can run soon! You are simply WONDERFUL!!! :)

Chad ~ You say the kindest thing! It was so great to run with you again. You are getting so speedy! I feared that I can no longer keep up with you! So glad you are now HEALTHY and no bad-luck jinx from this run! hehe! :)

SSF ~ You have no idea how much I miss you. I wish wish wish you could've been there to run with us. Sending healing thoughts your way. Love you so much! :)

From Chad on Sun, Nov 27, 2011 at 11:54:34 from 71.199.13.143

Keep up with me? You're the one who has run 9 marathons and 1 50 miler. There aren't many who can keep up with that. Certainly not me.

From The Quiet Pirate on Mon, Nov 28, 2011 at 16:30:10 from 152.26.59.252

Smooth- the amazing, magical running lady!! Nothing "average" about you (and I mean that in a good way)!

I loved running with you and Chad... somehow I got lost from the crowd and ended up missing you for the 2nd half. It was a great time for me. I'm going to miss y'all so much!!

Keep enjoying the journey and take some time to figure out how to lock that car door ;-)

From Smooth on Tue, Nov 29, 2011 at 02:56:17 from 174.27.205.151

Chad ~ You are very kind! :)

QP ~ It was so great to run with you! I LOVED chatting with you and Chad! I turned around with allie & Amy just right behind you while you and the rest of the group ran to the lake turn around for another 0.5 mile...that's how we got separated for the 2nd half.

:) it was very silly of me to not know how to lock my hubby's car door! Seriously if there's such a thing as a Chinese blonde...it'd be me!!! :)

OK, please hurry back soon! I really enjoy your company! You ran so awesome just a week after a PR'd marathon and a day after a speeedy hilly 5K! YOU ROCK! :)
