Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Road was covered with snow and ice.  Emi still sleeping. Ran on TM.  It was slow going at first.   Once warmed up felt pretty good.  Gradual warm up one mile @ around 13 ( ha! thought I forgot how to run :D),  8:34, 8:34, 8:20, 8:20, 8:06, 7:54.  TT: 1:01:15.  AP: 8:44

10K time was 55 exact, hope to improve that once training starts in Jan.  I have gained 5 lbs since SGM,  too much pigging out!

Registering for Painter's then going shopping with Emi!

I need to register for Painters!! I still want to do a girls weekend. Is anyone still in on that one????

Have fun shopping and have a good week. nice run on that treadmill. It was super slick this morning outside, treadmills are great on days like this.

Wow some fast miles in there! I have gained weight too...here's to dieting over the holidays!

From JulieC on Mon, Nov 23, 2009 at 15:28:48 from 67.40.111.101

sorry you missed the icy slopes : D. Much lovelier than the darn TM but I bet you had MUCH better climate control in your home. I might do Painter's too. I happen to work that weekend so I got to try and get off at least Friday night.

From Rhett on Mon, Nov 23, 2009 at 17:36:44 from 74.42.168.210

Nice miles. I figured when you put at 13 you were running at 13 mph since you are Super Smooth. :)

I need to register for SG 1/2 as well. They don't ever fill that race up do they?

yeah for winter, icy roads, and extra pounds!!! We love it right??? AHHH, , , I'm hearing you on the weight gain, luckily our roads here are only cold not icy, guess I can't complain.

Great job stickin it out on the treadmill even with your cute family in town. Nice fast miles, and don't worry, warm-ups can be as slow as you want. Glad you are coming down for Painters, it will be a good race to kick off the new year and get back in shape. Kerri and I keep laughing that we need to get back in shape!!! How fast we seem to lose it! (oh wait, I mean gain it, well, . . . lose our fitness and gain our pounds, , , there, , , oh my, i better just go to bed) have a great week with your family :)

Hmmm food...Great TM run! I don't know how you run on the TM...maybe I would be speedier if I did b/c I would want to get it done and over with! LOL

Nice run Smooth!

I'm still debating the St. George Half, but I'm leaning that way.

Kelli ~

You were brave to run in the wee dark hours on slippery hilly roads. Not me, I'm "soft"!!! ;) TM was good. Although felt like I had to learn to run all over again.

Prez. wondered what's the fuss about "girls only" stuff! MEN just don't understand, I tell ya!!!

Kathie ~

Here's to DIE-ting during the holidays! Don't know why my hubby can eat a cookie or pie and turn that into muscles; while mine turn into FAT!!! So NOT fair@!#!

Julie ~

I read your RUNS with EXTREME climates! Man alive!!! You went from being toasted on the TM to sub-freezing icy slopes on Micron Hill. YOU DA WOMAN!

Rhett ~

Very funny! My TM only goes up to 12mph which no one has ever tried around here. May be I will do a 9mph in your honor like Kathie, NOT!

Yes, you better sign up for Painter's, it will be so fun to see you at the Flyer's get together.

Hey SSF ~

I think my TM is SLOW. That sub-8 does NOT translate to the same pace on the road, I am certain of that!

MISS you terribly! Hope your lab-partners are treating you NICE ;) LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Amber ~

Wish I had a second home in SG. That would be so nice to train and run year round. Here's to loosing the weight (never to be found again) and gaining the fitness back and some more!!!

April ~

Yep, that's what happened...was so bored that I just UP the speed and hurry to get it over with!

Brad ~

You better sign up. You know I'm more excited about the Flyer's Five year anniversary get together than the race itself. Plus I need to do it for one of the Runners Series to get into SGM.
