Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ran with Karen down and up rail trail.  My breathing sure was labored on the uphill.  Legs felt fine but the lungs aren't.  What's the elevation in Pocatello?

Still desperately looking for a place to sleep Fri night in Logan for TOU on 9/16.  In the process of asking around, another friend (a girl from Arizona) needs a place to sleep too.  So now I am looking for TWO of us.  Anyone cancelling their hotel room?!!!!

Sorry, I can't help you on the room Smooth. If you are ever in Decatur, Ga, I can hook you up... :)

I live in Logan, I do have a couch and floor you could sleep on, maybe bring a blow up mattress or something. My apartment is small, but it could do for one night. I do also have a 5 month old baby, so you may not get the best nights rest before a race. But if you cant find any other place, you are welcome to stay with us.

I have an idea-you can take my suburban and sleep in it!!!!

From RAD on Tue, Aug 30, 2011 at 19:50:22 from 76.27.16.189

Seeing Smooth drive a Suburban would be awesome! :)

Good luck with your hotel hunt. I wish I had somewhere for you to stay. The only person I know up there lives in the dorms!

PLEASE take care of yourself at Pocatello - PC makes me very worried for you. Too much construction dust!

Good luck on your hotel hunt. Where is "rail trail"? I need more routes.

because I don't ever sleep well anyway...If it were me I would check out the local KOA. Set up a quick two-man tent. They usually have VERY decent showers and a pool. And you would save $$ :D.

Smooth-- I just looked up KOA. Too far away BUT there is one called TRAVELAND RV that has tent sites for $20/night right on like mile 20 of the marathon course. I actually do not know for sure but it looks to be on the course as I remember it....nonetheless IT LOOKS VERY CLEAN AND UPSCALE for a campground. Check it out. : D.

Tmck ~ That is very sweet of you to offer your place. The first year I ran TOU, in 2008, I ran it with my niece and her husband. It was their first marathon. He was a student at USU. I stayed in their married students apartment. It was sweet memory to me.

Any way, thanks for offering your couch. I did find a room for my friend and me at the Quality Inn. It looks like a flea bag but it will do. Thanks again!

Jon ~ It is the same one you, Kelly and I ran on that one time we ran down to her parents. We ran down on 300 West to access the trail by the gas station then run up to the end and access thru the neighborhood by Fox Hollow Elementary. I call it rail trail because it parallels the railroad. I can't wait until it connects with the trail north to Cabela's and east to the canal trail. Then we will have limitless routes :)

Kelli ~ I did put my name on the waiting list at the Marriott. The list is one and a half page long! CRAZY!!!

Your suburban is very comfy I am sure as you have slept in it many time during Ragnar. :)

Julie ~ Thanks for the tenting suggestion. Very sweet of you to look up the RV, KOA joints for me! :)
