Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Just caught up on your blog, you are having a very interesting week, along with lots of good running.

Maybe I've been away from running for too long... MLR. Is that a type of workout or a trail or route? 13 miles on a Thursday though--you're an animal!

Geez Smoothie, everyone tells you that you should take a rest day and then you go out and run a half marathon. LOL. Impressive time for a training run. I can't even run that fast during a REAL half marathon. Nice job. Now will you rest tomorrow?

From Kathie on Fri, Jul 16, 2010 at 00:18:40 from 63.248.105.188

Next time don't even look at the clock when you leave just run! I know I tell you that and I can't even leave the watch at home.

Yikes, sounds like quads after running SGM. Well, if you keep doing that every now and then, you will definitely be ready for SGM. Just don't overdo it.

How are you feeling today?

I have been trying to call, but no answer. :(

From Smooth on Sun, Jul 18, 2010 at 01:02:42 from 174.23.244.221

Flat ~ THANKS! You too!

Maynard ~ MLR = medium long run, any run of 11-15 miles. Pete Pfitzinger's schedule calls for 2 MLRs a week. The midweek 15 milers are the hardest to get up for.

Dale ~ I'm slave to my training schedule! Seriously, I just love to run!

Kathie ~ I can't live w/o my watch! :)

Rhett ~ Suncrest has an elevation gain of 1800'. It was fun running down it; but then I paid for it the next few days afterwards. I should have run it more often.

SSF ~ Sorry I didn't have my cell phone with me when we went out for dinner and concert. I also didn't receive any of your emails. I checked all my email accounts too...Weird!
