Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I love to check in on you and see your occasional running posts. SO much that you are doing! I know those missionaries love and adore you as much as we all do!! Keep up the incredible work. I will miss you at Boston this year, but will have a special place in my heart where you will be with me...and I'll harass Lowell a bit for you too :)

DaleG ~ Hi there! How are you and Amy?

Slick ~ Thanks for "dropping by". You excited for Boston in a week? So sad that the Forum Flyers site is gone. It was good place for us and served us well while it lasted. Sure gonna miss not being able to check on everyone in the future.

Rhett ~ I don't know beans about the game of cricket. The kids here love cricket. The major sport here is rugby. They have different kinds of rugby leagues and it's a religion in itself. There are heaps of rugby fields, soccer fields. Sports is huge here! Stores are closed by 6pm so families can spend time together playing sports or going to the beach especially on Sunday!

Teena ~ I am loving life. I am learning so much and are making lots of friends. I wish you could meet some of our young missionaries, they are amazing! I might have to travel around the world to visit them in the future! :) Very happy for your upcoming graduation from PT school. You've worked, studied and trained hard to earn this doctorate degree and honor. I am so proud of you. Will you be practicing in SG since you'll be living there? Love and miss you heaps! :)

RAD ~ I'd be lying if I say I won't miss Boston. In fact, I feel a lump in my throat and a bit sad every time I get an email reminder of upcoming races of which I have run in the past. I MISS running SO MUCH!!! Most of all I miss all my running friends! Have heaps of fun at Boston and I will be thinking of you. And DO harass Lowell for me. He never writes either...he's probably stinking busy! Say hello to Toby for me! :)
