Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Karen and I got out before the 40mph wind hit our neighborhood.  She didn't bring Sky who was really dragging yesterday.  I wanted to do some intervals on the track with my  Kinvara2.  We both agreed that may be we shouldn't do sw this close to the marathon.  So we put in some mp miles on the bench loop instead.  (9:00, 8:49, 8:46, 9:00, 9:10, 9:15)  Jogged/walked Karen home for cool down at 9:30.  The pace felt hard, more like HM pace.  I have a lot of work to do; but at least my breathing is better than a few weeks ago.  The Kinvara felt wonderful, however I need to ease into them because I could feel some twinges in my left arch on the cool down.

I'm glad your asthma is getting a little better. I'm sure you will do great at Ogden.

Temple Thursday? Oh I miss going to the Temple weekly. David and I try to go monthly. (3 hours away).

Anyway, great workout in the wind. Tell Karen "hi" for me. Is she planning to do Ogden marathon as well? Good luck to the both of you!

I think that you should wear the Kinvaras for the marathon, if you are thinking about that. The first time I wore them for a long run was at STG. You should be good to go in them now. They are such a great shoe. What color are yours? I have the bright neon yellow ones. :)

This is a long comment, I just miss you!

I only wear my Kinvaras on the treadmill so far! They will for sure take some getting used to!

Great workout.

OH, I love your age graded equivalent times! Look how fast!!! That is cool.

I'm glad you got some good tempo miles in! Remember when you felt like you couldn't even get there?!? Now you're there and more in the hills! It may have felt hard, but you're recovering well. Keep up the good work with those amazing ladies! See you SAturday!

Good job today, have a good taper for Ogden!

SSF ~ yes, I was enjoying my afternoon, especially the little *dozing off* in the temple! Hehehe (evil me!) :)

Nancy ~ If I can finish Ogden without asthma or cramping, I'd be ecstatic! :)

Bec ~ I'm SO PROUD of you and David going to the temple monthly when it's 3 hours away! That is VERY DEDICATED!!! You will be blessed for your faithfullness!

Yes, Karen is running Ogden and so is Gary, my bro-in-law from HK. DaleG sold his and his wife's entries to them. I'm very excited to see Gary. This will be his 5th marathon THIS year so far! He's going to love running in cooler and drier weather here. :)

My Kinvara is mostly white with neon pink soles. I bought another pair the other day and it is all neon pink. I don't think I'm quite ready to run the marathon in them yet. I've only done 2 runs in them. I will definitely train more in them and hopefully ready for a Fall marathon. Your input helps A LOT!!! I MISS YOU TOO! Can't wait to see you this summer! :)

Tim ~ me too! How's your foot?

Kelli ~ thanks! I don't know how scientific that Age Graded Equivalent from marathonguide.com is; but it's fun to have the races I ran last year listed in one convenient chart/place.

RAD ~ yes I remember how horrible I felt when I could barely breath or pick up my legs. You were there patiently slogging/walking with me! Thanks for your encouragement!

It was SO GREAT to run WITH you today, thanks! :)

Flat ~ not sure I have much to taper from. Am still in the early stage of my training cycle. But will do a mini taper for Ogden!
