Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I sometimes listen to the Tabernacle Choir while running.

I'm ready to be done with winter. How about you?

Have a fun lunch with your friend (you probably already have). Watch those carbs!

From Smooth on Wed, Feb 24, 2010 at 16:37:45 from 174.23.239.148

Carolyn ~ Hi! That's what I listen to. My son played for the Orchestra at Temple Square when he was 15 'till he left for his mission. My music taste is pretty much limited to that genre.

I am so ready for Spring! The cold affects my arthritic joints.

Lunch was fun. We went to Cafe Rio. On Monday we made breakfast for 5 friends/neighbors who had birthdays last week. Feb must be a popular month for birthday. I'm still 100% on the no sugar challenge...5 more days to go...then I can have my chocolate. Yay!

Smooth- Cafe Rio is the best. I love the steak salad, well actually I love just about everything on the menu. :) Never tried running to Mo-tab. I have a few of their CD's so manye I'll give it a whirl one of these days.

Cracking up picturing you listening to church music while running in order to go slow!

Nice recovery run! I'm jealous you went to Cafe Rio - it is one of my favorites!

Church music would make me fall asleep!!!! See ... you are so good!!!

I ditto what Paul said: YOU ARE AMAZING, INSPIRING, FULL OF LOVE, etc!!!

Thank you for being my SSF. I love you!

Hope you are having a great day. :) :) :)

Scott & Toby ~ Cafe Rio salad...so good...I can eat the whole thing in one sitting...oink oink! :) It seems to be my friends' favorite place. I was just there last week. My free meal card fills up fast.

auntieem ~ church music is just right for that! :)

Paul ~ You say the kindest thing to me! THANK YOU! I likewise think the world of you! Sure hope you're 100% healed and get back to your happy running self again SOON!

SSF ~ That's why I can't or shouldn't run w/ music. :)

I've had a GREAT day! Made more phone calls and visited with my friends. I feel so blessed to have you in my life!

Prez. didn't have any mtg or visits tonight so he took me to a movie, When in Rome. It's SOOOO funny! We laughed so hard our sides hurt. The girl in the movie reminds me of you, blonde, blue eyes, beautiful and lovable. How was your day! Miss and love you!

From Teena Marie on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 00:05:45 from 174.52.45.85

SSF -- I am so so so happy that you had such a wonderful evening with your Love! That is WONDERFUL!!!!! Okay ... I totally have to see the movie now. Can't wait!!

I love you!

(Studying right now ... bored stiff!!! Thinking about calling it a night and trying to get to bed at a decent hour so that I can wake up extra early and get my run complete before 7 a.m.)

From seeaprilrun on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 00:10:17 from 205.172.12.229

5 days to chocolate! Love the new pic!

From Smooth on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 00:22:57 from 174.23.239.148

SSF ~ It's a chick flix; but you should go see it with your Love! Larry loves chick flix...he was one of only 3 guys in the whole theater filled with women. I was sitting next to my friend, Nancy who was sitting next to Crockett's wife. Both their husbands would not go to chick flix. Larry laughed harder than the girls there!

Sorry you have to study soooo much! Complete your run before 7am???! WOW! You and Kelli are so so so so dedicated to get up SOOOO early. LOVE YOU!

april ~ 4 days! It was so hard to refrain from the dark chocolate at the movie tonight. I smuggled some grapes in my purpose! I know it's illegal...my bad! :)

From Rhett on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 11:34:06 from 74.32.219.217

Sorry to hear that winter is still there. You guys will be running in beautiful spring weather soon.

From RivertonPaul on Thu, Feb 25, 2010 at 13:02:53 from 67.42.27.114

Smooth, with your huge mileage I would expect you to start having improvements in speed ONLY after you start training. Hang in there then you can look forward to the dividends of all your determination.
