Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

4.5 easy miles on the track with Karen.  15 laps alternating between back stroke and freestyle.  Both of my tibia has been tender to touch and worrisome the last couple of weeks.  I am going to scale down my mileage and hope to survive the upcoming marathons (again).  :)

121 days till we enter the MTC.  Need to increase my daily study/practice time and begin to tackle the task of de-junking the house.  There is SO MUCH preparation that needs to be done and SO LITTLE time!  :)

I have not been paying attention, I didn't know you were going on a mission!! How exciting. You are going to be the best missionary EVER!! The light of Christ is in your eyes!

Great job on the swim, be careful with that tibia.

When I read how many days until you leave, I thought, "Mission presidents, for sure!" I went back in your log and read that you will be mission presidents in Australia...WOW!!! What an amazing time to be serving. My oldest will be leaving on his mission to Peru in just a few weeks. I poured over the Church News articles announcing new mission presidents, knowing that one of them will be his new president. Parents like us are so grateful for your willingness to serve and take care of our sweet children! :-)

Carina ~ Thanks for your kind words! We are humbled by this special and sacred call to serve! :)

Neasts ~ Very happy that your oldest will be leaving on his mission to Peru soon. I still remember when our oldest of five sons left for his mission. We put our son's care and total trust in the hands of the Lord and the sweet mission president and wife. It is the most wonderful thing to see these young missionaries so eager to serve, to bring souls unto Christ. We are thrilled to have this opportunity to love, teach, guide and nurture the Lord's choicest missionaries! All the best to you son and your family...no doubt you will be greatly blessed! :)

Maynard ~ you always make me smile! :)

Rye ~ Yep, I thought I was a worried sick mom when my sons went on their missions. Now I have 200+ children to loose sleep over! Hehe! :)
