Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Went to our second baptism today.  Last Sat. we went to a Samoan baptism of a father whose wife is a member.  They have three little daughters.  He indicated to us that his goal is to take his family to the temple a year from now. :)

Today we went to the baptism of an 85 year old grandfather.  His son baptized him.  You could see and feel the joy of the family as well as the ward family.  It is a Tongan ward so the service was entirely in Tongan.  Imagine my surprise when the bishop called Prez. and I to speak at the end.  I wish they would just sing more.  And my wish came true when the grandfather dressed in "tuxedo like suit" got up to the stand and played the guitar and sang a lovely Tongan song before the closing hymn/prayer.  Did I mention the Tongans are born singers/harmonizers.  Most of all their faith and love for God is SO AMAZING!!!

We had quite an adventure today driving around after the baptism to Hurtsville to look for the shopping mall.  We found it, the parking in the carpark structure was crazy busy and tight and has a three hr limit or face $101 fine.  The mall is great, everything is TWICE as expensive!!!  For example, bananas on special are $2.99 per kg.  Chicken drumsticks are $19.99 per 2kg.  We paid $30 for 24 packs of toilet paper.  $1AU is about $0.89US.  Yikes!!!

I just realized that you were posting again! I'm so excited to hear all about your mission experiences. What a wonderful way to help us all feel the spirit of missionary work.
