Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Went to Days of 47 rodeo (where we rode/paraded in the WellsFargo Stagecoach at intermission, fun!).   Ate too much junk and drank root-beer!!! GASP!!!  So, didn't go to bed early nor get up early to eat breakfast.  Failed already on day one!  O well, there's always tomorrow.

Much better run than Tue.  Still very hot.  Smoother strides.  Zero potty stop.  Drank 7oz water at mile 3, 5 (Gu'd since I had no breakfast), 7, 10.  Sweat up a puddle at finish while stretching in the shade.

Glad I'm not the only one sweating more after!

Nice work on the long run, especially after a fun and food filled night!

Good run Smooth, I watched for you, but you must have gone earlier than I. And I thought it was hot too!

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 22, 2010 at 12:09:57 from 174.23.218.43

Jon ~ I got out just before 7, ran east to Smith then west to Bull River Rd closure; then turn around east to Smith then on Bull River to 500W then southwest to Center to home. Normally I'd run hills on one of the MLRs; but today needed to stay on the *bench loop* where there's Smith and JimmyJohn just in case I needed to make a pit stop.

I looked for you and thought I saw Kelly on a bike but it wasn't her. Lotsa cyclists and runners out this morning. No shade or breeze made for a hot run!

Nice work!

Smooth, I was behind you by 10-15 minutes. I ran that road behind Smiths. That is a good route you hit today. We map out all those potty breaks too. Hopefully they aren't needed, but nice to have.

I'm guessing all of UT has the day off today since tomorrow is the 24th. I should take today off and claim it as a religious holiday. Well, I'm already here so I better get back to work.

From Mack on Fri, Jul 23, 2010 at 14:22:16 from 71.111.186.66

Nice job smoothie. Sounds like you had a good time swigging down rootbeer and all. Nice mileage as usual!!
