Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Think I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep.  Got another 7 hours sleep!  YAY!!!  Was going to get up early to run 3 miles before meeting up with Wendy, Carolyn and Mary.  It didn't happen.  Only had time to do an easy 5 miler with them before the builder came.

Took Olga to lunch for her birthday.  Got home and saw the big mess the backhoe has made.

My baby will be leaving for Taiwan next Tue.  Can't believe 12 weeks of MTC has gone by so fast!

Wanted to run some more this afternoon; but other things got in the way.  Foam rolled the legs.

Going to speak at a girls camp in Payson Lake tomorrow morning...so may have to run later in the day!

There is a nice, one mile trail, that goes around Payson lake. Maybe you can get in a run, or walk, after your speaking assignment.

Oh yes! The nice trail around the lake. You should try it! Bye-wing really liked it when she did it. Flat too :)

12 weeks already?!? WOW! Time does go too fast!

Hey, I got to meet Wendy and Carolyn (I think it was Carolyn) at the RHPC race! I finished the same time they did. I knew they were your friends because they were so happy and pleasant even after 13 miles :)

Sometimes life is more important than running, but you did get some miles in! I'm glad you're sleeping. Take care! What are you doing Saturday? I'd like to do 17 if you're game.

From Smooth on Wed, Jul 20, 2011 at 16:30:23 from 67.2.89.58

Yes, it was Wendy and Carolyn! I told them to watch for you! all they remember is "Tall Rachel". Carolyn asked what the pink fishnet is for! :) They had such a fun time! They want to thank you for making them feel part of the group! Thanks for your inclusion!

K, I got a 6 miler in before going to Payson! It was so nice of Wendy to come with me because I was worried about driving and getting lost! By the time I was done with the speaking and visiting with the girls it was close to noon, we needed to get home so I didn't run around the lake! Btw, I don't know these girls. They are from Cedar Hills. Someone heard me spoke in my Stake's youth conference recently and thought I would be good choice for their girls camp morning side speaker! The are probably regretting it now! :)

I am supposed to run 20 on Sat. so if I am not doing DNews on Mon. I will definitely want to run with you on Sat!

From RAD on Wed, Jul 20, 2011 at 16:43:20 from 76.27.16.189

I wished I could've visited more with them (and explained the fish nets!) more, but I was stretching while most of the chatting was going on, and then all of a sudden everyone disappeared. Not like the usual all day talk a thon we have :)

I don't think anyone would regret having you speak to them!! You are amazing!

Oh, and just for the record I vote no on DesNews :) hehehe - no, I'm not selfish...why do you ask? :) Oh, and with the paces I've been running lately I think you could beat me at a 10K! Easily! I'll wait to hear from you about Saturday.

You are a very dedicated runner. I bet you are a very good speaker too.

YES YES YES!!! I ****LOVE**** that you are actually sleeping!!!! :) :) :)

Excellent balance, SSF!!!

Really really really really wishing that there going to be a full moon next week. :( :( :(

Whatever you decide to do about D-News will be great!!! :) :) :)

Love you!!!!! :) :) :)

Rachel ~ They did say the food was fabulous and glad they went. Mary was going to run 10K and she ended up running 10 miles like bye-wing did.

Keep me posted on Sat. Prez. wants to take advantage of the Homestead certificate I won last year. It's expiring in Aug. This weekend might be the only weekend we could do it. I'll call Homestead tomorrow. If they have a room, then we'll be up there this weekend. Kinda silly to let Homestead decide if I should run DNews huh!

I am still certain that you will beat me in a 10K hands down anytime!

Nancy ~ Thanks! I am so not good at speaking!

SSF ~ I LOVE all those yeses and :) :) :)s. You always make me smile!

Me too, wishing so badly for a 2nd annual full moon MMM! :(

LOVE YOU too! :)
