Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Ran with Wendy to meet Karen and Carolyn.  Took it easy on hills, west to Bull River, jump on the rail trail then cross Timpanogos Hwy, to connect on the bike trail by Cabela.  Turned around where the parkway ended.  Can't wait for the trail system to be completed. They are starting to landscape the west portion of Timp Hwy.

Nice cool morning...sunny blue sky, calm...lotsa sunflowers greeting us with cheerful faces!  Hope we get nice weather next Sat. at SGM! :)

Tomorrow will be our last group run before SGM.  Y'all invited to join us for our traditional run on the Porter Rockwell Trail.  Hope to see you there.

Hi, SSF!!! :) :) :)

Hope you had a fantastic run yesterday!!! Thank you for the super nice email. I sure love and miss you!!! :)

Kirsten ~ I actually hope that we get the same kinda weather as in TOU! Rain and cool beats hot and sunny for a marathon! I do better in cooler temp. Wish you were running SGM. I still remember you and Mark and Wendy Clark passing me at SGM2005, my very first marathon, yelling: blue berry blue berry! Hehe!

RAD ~ :) :) :)

Dale ~ We did have fun! One of these days, you have to come join us! :)

Rhett ~ Did I hear somewhere that you decided not to register for Boston 2012? I am crushed! Boston 2012 will likely be my last marathon and it will not be the same without you and Doone there!

How are you doing? I hope things are going well for you and Doone! Miss you two so much!

SSF ~ I have wanted to call or text you on numerous occasions but refrain from doing so because I didn't want to interrupt your study and take away your precious time. I hope your "owie" is under control and you are happy! Love and miss you SO MUCH! :)

Smooth, it was a tough decision not to run Boston next year and it will be sad not to be there with everyone, but it was the right decision for my family at this time. The bigger question is, did you really mean your "last marathon", or your last Boston?

From Smooth on Tue, Sep 27, 2011 at 22:11:54 from 174.27.201.64

Rhett ~ Larry is so bummed that Doone and James are not going to be there to help him cheer! You and Doone have a lot on your plates lately! Please know that Larry and I think the world of you and appreciate so much your good influence!

Boston 2012 may be my last marathon for at least a year or 18 months. It all depends on how soon Larry and I go on our mission. We may leave as early as next May when Steven has served one year. That way we'll finish the same time as Steven. I certainly hope that it will not be my last Boston as my oldest boy, Eric, really wants to run Boston with me some day. When he finishes his residency in 3 years, he will have time to train and try to BQ and so will I! :) I hope to run marathons in between missions! :)

Smooth, you and Larry are going to be the most amazing missionaries. I am so excited for you. Now you just have to get Larry running before then so you can run with your companion during your mission.
