Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I will be there! :) I can't believe you can bust out 10 miles on the mill, I get SOOOO bored after about 4 or 5. Even with TV.

From glidergirl on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 17:21:40 from 67.2.143.17

Yay! I really want to come, so I will most likely be there! I'm just scared of that incline haha, those wear me out now! I will run pretty slow and I don't mind if people don't run with me, but I just want to see people, I'm so done with solo running. Thanks for planning this. :)

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 17:30:31 from 75.162.95.99

Brooke ~ I am SO SO SO EXCITED you're coming! There is NO incline on the south portion of the trail. It is 5.5 miles out to the lake from the parking. There is port-a-potty at mile 2 and again just before mile 5. You can run however distance and pace, there will be enough of us that you will not be running alone!!! Do you need direction how to get there? :)

RAD ~ You'd better be there because you are bringing the MOST important thing, YOU and the hot cocoa!

The TM was boring and hard...Monk was funny so it helps a little. I don't know how you run on that thing day in and day out. The only reason I ran 10 was I had to finish the show! Hehe! :)

From glidergirl on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 17:38:09 from 67.2.143.17

Even better! :) Yes, can I get directions?

From Smooth on Thu, Dec 22, 2011 at 17:48:19 from 75.162.95.99

Take the I-15 Exit 282 in Lehi. It is the one right after (or south of ) the Thanksgiving Point Exit. Follow the sign to get on SR 89 (State St). Go about 2 miles south on SR89 to 1500North which is a traffic light with a Chevron gas station on your right (west). Turn right on 1500North. Travel west for about 2 miles (watch your speed limit here 25mph, sometimes cops are hiding). You will pass about 3 stop signs and a railroad crossing. The parking is on the left (south) side of the road just before the bridge, you will see a pedestrian crossing sign. Hope this help!

From RAD on Fri, Dec 23, 2011 at 00:27:49 from 98.202.23.178

Your meeting time so much nicer than 6am!! I have to work at noon so I need to get back to hang with my kids a little....I just worked the last two days so feeling a little guilty about not being around. HAVE A GREAT TIME!! :D

From Smooth on Sat, Dec 24, 2011 at 02:08:31 from 75.162.95.99

Chad ~ No need for heater...your radiating personality and warm friendship is sufficient! :)

Brooke ~ I'm so excited to see you. I will have my cell phone with me just in case. See you in the morning! :)

Steam8 ~ Oh, please come run some with us. I know everyone has a busy day. My family bought movie tickets to the 11am showing at American Fork so I have to keep it short and sweet! :)

Dale ~Merry Christmas! Where've you been? Missing you!

Julie ~ I understand! Have fun with your 6am run. We will miss you.
