Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Did the PC last night, wk 6 day 2 column 2.  Boy, did it kick my patooty:  20, 20, 23, 23, 20, 20, 18, 18, k, here goes...60!!!  One more day of this boot-camp, I'll be done, YAY!

I tried stretching, rolling with "the stick", massaging; but my piriformis really hurt last night.  Between that and my hubby up all night,  I did not sleep well.  No time to sleep in with morning meetings.  Looking out the window (I get distracted at mtgs), I saw lotsa runners out enjoying the sun.

Made a quick change after I got home and headed out for a run.  It felt like the day after running a marathon, every muscle in my legs hurt.  I barely eeked out a 10 mm.  I cut the run short before doing any more damage, wondering if I've made some training errors.

No running tomorrow heading down to St. George.  I'm going to pray hard for a speedy recovery or it might be the slowest 10K I'll ever run.  On the bright side, I get to see my running friends and have a nice trip with hubby.  WooHoo!!!

Hey Good luck this week end I hope you have wonderful running weather!

From jona on Thu, Mar 12, 2009 at 15:36:33 from 69.27.13.147

I can't wait to see you in SG. If you feel like really really slow, you could hit Kelly up for you pacing her to SLOW SLOW. She really wants to complete it, but the darn knee is still an issue.

Well that is a great job on the PC. Your one tough woman. Sounds like phantom pains before a race. You will be good to go at the race I am sure. And I for one am looking forward to see you and Larry again.:)

It's time for a massage Smooth! Take care of that piriformis, they can be a real pain. Have fun at your race this weekend, perfect time for a little getaway. Nice PC by the way! You would completely kick my trash.

Smooth, you've just been training hard. A little rest will do you wonders and you'll come back stonger than ever.

Smooth...I bet after one day off tomorrow you'll feel a lot better. We're driving down to Cedar City and staying with my sister in law and then driving down to St. George Saturday morning for the race. After the race we have a hotel room waiting for us at the Crystal Inn. Have a safe trip. See you down there.

60!!!! Wow!

Enjoy a rest day, and play it safe in SG this weekend (you'll do the right thing...either way, run fast, or take it easy, you'll make that 10K a happier place by being there! :-)

Smoothie Q,

You are going to do AWESOME at Spectrum. If I am remembering correctly you took 1st place there in you AG last year!! Remember??? Go defend your title Champ!!

Your body will enjoy the rest tomorrow and recover nicely for Saturday. Make sure to stop a couple of times on your drive down there and get out and stretch. I will be thinking about you, praying for you, and sending you all the positive vibes I possibly can.

I love you!! Glad Kelli is loving you (and everybody else as well). As a matter of fact, you are IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO LOVE!! You know what to do to take care of your aches and pains.

(No pressure to bring back the title ... just have a GREAT time!!)

Kathie,

Thanks! I'm gonna need more than luck. At least the weather will be nice.

Jon,

Kelly will be too fast for me, I might be walking it.

Mark,

I'm looking forward to seeing you and MissFIT and your mom and dad.

Bec,

Did you do your PC yet?

Rhett,

My legs are still hurting. I walk with a limp all day. I'm hoping for a miracle. I think I over-trained the last three days and all that jumping on Tue. was not very smart.

Dale,

Have a safe drive. You'll do great.

Kelli,

Thanks for the LOVE. I'm feeling better already! I'll see you next week. Let's run on Mon and have lunch on Tue. LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL LLL

Marc,

I will finish even if I have to walk just so I can get the series done and have a guarantee entry to SGM. Wish me luck!

TEENA!!!!

You always say the right thing! THANKS!!!

No title this year. There are some really speedy women who moved up in my AG. They booted me at Painter's. I hate being 4th; but that's how it goes. I just hope I can run on Sat. Can't wait to see you next week. I miss you so much!
