AM:  78F, 82%.  6 @ 8:46 AP.  Followed up the feel-good Sunday run with the standard feel-bad Monday run.

PM:  4 on the TM with several strides @ 3k pace.  I had to do my recoveries faster than usual bc the guy next to me was going 8:00 pace.

I must say, the last few days have really showed what a competitive jerk I can be....huh.

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

From SlowJoe on Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 14:02:33 from 168.215.171.129

Haha. Possibly too soon there...

From Derunzo on Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 14:23:21 from 173.9.52.242

What are you talking about? I don't see any inappropriate comments.

From Tom K on Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 15:21:54 from 174.58.4.250

I was trying to figure out how that would work on a treadmill, anyway.

Embrace your competitive jerk, Joe. You are not training to boost the self esteem of the treadmill hamster next to you.

I gotta laugh at the treadmill competition, I am a jerk like that too. I'm all about my easy recovery treadmill run until some chic gets on next to me and starts running faster. I can't have that. I am looking at the Cowtown 50k on your schedule with interest.

From Matt Schreiber on Mon, Aug 11, 2014 at 20:32:44 from 66.17.102.175

At least you were able to log a fast mile today by racing that dude on your recoveries.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 07:08:58 from 168.215.171.129

Derunzo...thanks, now my first comment makes no sense!

April - yeah cowtown is a road race in Fort Worth (marathon and half) but they have a 50k option where they just add a 5 mile out-and-back to the marathon course. I figured it's the most painless way to sorta dip my toes in the Ultra water. Just paid for it a couple weeks ago, so it's happening!

From Derunzo on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 07:22:01 from 173.9.52.242

You were right Joe.... too soon for my twisted sense of humor. I had to delete my original comment.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 07:42:56 from 168.215.171.129

I admittedly got a good laugh out of it.

From Burt on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 08:18:42 from 184.101.121.216

Johnny Come Lately. What's going on? Derunzo making Robin Williams death jokes again?

From Derunzo on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 13:27:40 from 24.218.179.128

Close Burt.... but no cigar.

From I Just Run on Tue, Aug 12, 2014 at 13:29:19 from 67.79.11.242

Joe and April,

Just be careful running the Cowtown and miss the full marathon split like I did! :-(
